Kodak's Professional Portra 800 is a high-speed daylight-balanced color negative film optimized for use in difficult lighting conditions. It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 800/30° along with a notable underexposure latitude for effectively pushing to ISO 1600 with maintained quality and extended highlight and shadow detail. Vivid color saturation and low overall contrast contribute to pleasing skin tones and neutral color accuracy, and a micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion renders a fine grain structure with high sharpness and edge acutance. Kodak's proprietary advanced development accelerators and antenna dye sensitization also offer enhanced scanning and enlarging performance. Portra 800 is very well-suited to photographing moving subjects and working in low-light conditions while maintaining true color reproduction.

This item is one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this fit the Sony 90mm macro lens?

A: The Vello NSD-35 35mm Negative and Slide Digitizer comes with a 62mm filter adapter that fits the Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Lens. Technically it should work but it has not been tested with that lens and Sony cameras.

Q: 2. Is the lens ajustable or is it just like that for esthetic purposes?

A: The focus is the only adjustable option on the lens included with this Konstruktor F Kit.

Q: 3. What is the difference between this and the 8100?

A: The OpticFilm 8200i SE has built-in Infrared dust and scratch removal and the OpticFilm 8100 does not. An IR system is the preferred way to remove dust and scratches because it is more accurate and leaves fewer artifacts than software dust and scratch removal. Just be aware that IR dust and scratch removal doesn't work on silver-based black and white film and some Kodachrome slides.

Q: 4. Is Plustek 8200 producing better image quality than the 120 for 35mm film? I already have the 120. Is it worth buying 8200?

A: This is a very good scanner for the money. But if you need to squeeze all the nuances for a top quality print Museum style, you will need to spent much more money.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Mac OS Monterey 12.2.1?

A: Yes, the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i Ai Film Scanner would be compatible for use with the macOS 12 Monterey operating system. If needed, you may download the OpticFilm 8200i AI Installer For Patch V3.0.0.7 (released on February 22, 2022) from the Support tab on Plustek's website for macOS 12.x. Their website does instruct to please install the SilverFast software (by bundled DVD or current latest version) firstly, and then install this patch.

Q: 6. Is there a way to turn off the auto adjust features so b/w film negatives will scan "as is?" I have a cheap film scanner that automatically sets the black and white points so the histogram for the resulting image file always ranges from 0 to 100%. If, for example, I scan a negative with density values of 50-100%, I want the image file to contain values of 50-100%. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.

A: Yes. All auto adjustments and manual adjustment can be driven using the SilverFast se plus 8 application software that comes included with the scanner.

Q: 7. Does this camera work without a battery or power supply?

A: Yes. The following camera does not need power in order to create great images.

Q: 8. How many steps does this take to make it? I am wondering if I can turn it into an “advent calendar” for my son to build?

A: Please take a look at this link as it lists the instructions and all of the steps required to build the Lomography Konstruktor F Do-It-Yourself 35mm Film SLR Camera Kit. https://microsites.lomography.com/konstruktor/how-to-build/

Q: 9. can i buy additional negative holders?

A: Unfortunately we do not sell replacement holders for the Braun reflecta x33.

Q: 10. I have panoramic negatives to scan from a Widelux that are 59x24mm. Is there a panormic film holder available for this? Or is it possible to scan them without a negative holder?

A: No this won't work for your panoramic negatives.

I tried this film for night shots such as neon lights and I had just the result I wanted. Vivid colors and texture.

I have shot with Portra 160 and 400 for a number of years and have always liked the overall results that the Kodak Portra line provides. I had never shot this high an ISO on film before and had heard good things about this Portra film and wanted to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all. The film provided fantastic exposures with the kind of exposure latitude I have come to expect with the Portra films. I was still shocked to see how well this film held detail in bright sunlight. The grain texture is very smooth and not even noticeable in a standard 4x6 print. Color is also excellent with natural tonality, although a low contrast film, Portra shooters have come to expect and appreciate this when shooting portraits. Being the first time shooting 800 ISO on film, I would certainly be better prepared with ND filters and/ or a camera with as high a shutter speed as I can get. It made it a challenge shooting in daylight, but the results far exceeded my expectations. In fact, with the right filters I mentioned, I might likely choose 800 over 400 Portra in the future.

Worths every penny for this film! Don't be turned off by the ISO 800. It has the sharpness of an ISO 100 film. Great for shooting indoors or anywhere with dim light. Once I shot at a wedding inside a medieval castle. The lighting was horrible, but I was able to use this film with no flash at 1/10s, and the results were amazing. Highly recommend for use in sports, or indoors.

I shoot this at box speed mainly in the Nikon N90S and N8008S for wildlife. I can shoot handheld without VR in all but the lowest light. Most importantly, however, I have gotten the best looking pictures ever.

Gets me the speed I need to shoot indoors. Using an 80A filter under tungsten lighting still results in accurate skin tones. This film matched with my Zuiko 50mm f1.8 are perfect :)

I bought this film because I was planning on taking some pictures in restaurants where the lighting would be pretty low. My prints had very rich color and were well saturated. The grain is very nice and it was very sharp! I recommend this film for low light situations.

Although this film is quite expensive, it looks fantastic. I love this film in 120 and it's also great in 135 format. The grain structure is flattering and pleasing. It's tonally very nice and quite even. Colour rendition is nice; sharpness is relatively high. 800 is my favourite Portra film and it works especially well with Canon EF lens rendering.
