The Reel ADT from Waves is a plug-in that emulates Abbey Road Studios' pioneering process of ADT (Artificial Double Tracking). The effect was initially created at the studios in the 1960s to meet the needs of The Beatles. Using intuitive controls, the doubled signal can be advanced or pushed back to achieve lush-sounding delay and pitch variations. The plug-in includes both Native and SoundGrid licenses.

Each of the signals can be driven separately to add tape saturation. With an authentically modeled valve tape machine sound and emulation of wow and flutter, the plug-in can enhance any track with the impression of two separate takes, and provide results as close as possible to real double tracking. Other classic Abbey Road tape effects such as flanging and phasing can also be achieved with ease.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this film 16mm wide?

A: Yes

Q: 2. Will this length of double super 8 film(10m/33ft) fit in a Canon Zoom DS8 camera? This camera has a spool size of 100ft/30m, but since B&H is only selling this length, I was wondering if could just pop it in this DS8 camera with max spool size is 100ft.

A: It will work fine only keep your eye on the footage or meter counter and stop at 10 mt or 33 ft, and turn the film over -- whichever scale your camera has. I don't know the Canon but 100 ft rolls of DS8 and D8 were often sold on 16mm spools with a larger center hole. The Fomapan DS8 film comes on a spool with the smaller center hole. Worst case scenario will be to pass the film onto a 16mm camera spool or remove the spindle adapters from your camera if it has them.

Q: 3. does this film work for a lumicon 8III?

A: Hey, so I looked into the Lumicon 8 III a little bit and I am going to say a tentative yes. From what I understand the Lunicon 8 III was released in 1961 and super 8 film (the other kind of 8mm film) was released in 1965. So the odds are in your favor. And honestly the film is relatively inexpensive so it's really worth the shot! I shoot on this film all the time and I love how it looks, and if it doesn't work for your camera then you have a test roll for future cameras!

Q: 4. What is the expiration date? When were they manufactured?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 5. Will this format fit my Krasngorsk K3, serial number 87******? Technically, it should fit, but I'm not sure if the perforations are at least a little bit different in terms of distance between them and size of the perforation itself?

A: It will not fit. The K3 is a 16mm camera. Double Super 8 has different perforations. They are smaller and more numerous that 16mm.

Q: 6. will foma r100 work in a bolex zoom reflex p1?

A: Yes the Foma Fomapan R100 Black and White Transparency Film (Double Standard 8mm, 32.8' Reel) will work in the bolex zoom reflex p1. Note, you will need an empty spool as well. The Fomapan comes on one daylight spool that will fit regardless of the any capacity you may read about. The film itself is actually 16mm wide with double the amount of perforations as compared to regular 16mm. The film runs through the camera, exposing one side of the film creating a 8mm image, and stops at the end of its 32' / 10m length. Then the user has to find a dim area to open the camera, exchange the reels, re-thread, running back to the beginning with this time exposing the OTHER side of the film. The lab processing the film runs the developed film through a slitter and cements the ends together to get 64'/ 20m of film.

Q: 7. Does this type of film work with a brownie movie camera 8mm?

A: If the camera you have accepts 8mm film, not Super 8, yes this film should work in it.

Q: 8. I have a sound super 8 movie camera, can silent movie film be used in a sound camera?

A: Hello Super 8 sound film is not made anymore. However silent super 8 film can be used in any sound camera.Double super 8 film can only be shot on those cameras that are capable to shoot the double super 8 spocketed cameras. From memory only the canon scoopic ds8 and some modified bolex ds8 cameras can shoot this film format.CheesNick v

Q: 9. where do i get this developed?

A: Fomapan R can be processed by the company DR5 Chrome, 701 W. 6th Ave., Denver, Colorado 80204-5008. However, they return the developed roll as 16mm, so you'll have to split it into 2-8mm strips yourself. Such a splitter is available on eBay.

Q: 10. will this work on a bell & howell twenty-two 8mm movie camera?

A: As long as it isn't a super 8 or 8mm magazine camera then yeah. A lot of times they are called double 8. Just means there is a 16mm strip of film inside.
