Q: 1. It's compatible with a rebel t5? Thanks, Clemente

A: Just keep in mind the 1.6x magnification using a camera like the Canon Rebel series that have the APC-S sized sensor. In terms of 35mm, this means that the 50mm f/1.4 will have an 80mm perspective on your T3; that is, a moderate telephoto effect (not a bad thing at all, but not a normal perspective.

Q: 2. Will this lens fit a Cannon 6D or Cannon 7D body?

A: Yes it is, this is an EF format lens and is designed to be used on full-frame cameras and can also be used on APS-C crop sensor cameras as well.

Q: 3. Will this lens work on a canon rebel t6s???

A: Yes. The Canon T6s is compatible with all Canon mount lenses.

Q: 4. does it work canon 7d mark ii?

A: Yes, it should but the 1.6 makes it crop like a 80mm lens.

Q: 5. Which lens is better for Portraits with a nice blurry background? 85mm f/1.8 or 50mm f/1.4?

A: Tough to answer. Both lenses, and I have both have advanctages. The zoom gives great flexibility and allows the photographer to be further away. The background is controllable the Aperture or Time Values. The 55mm uses less light, but that is very rarely necessary with flashes and ISO settings. Overall I suggest the zoom or both.

Q: 6. I purchased the Canon 50mm f/1.4 from B&H several months ago and chose to return it for refund. Although the image quality was surprisingly good for a non-L series lens, the lockup between lens and body was so tight that I was concerned it might damage the cameras electronic sensor contacts over time.I would like to give this lens another go but concerns still remain about the lens to body fit. Is ultra-tight lockup typical for this lens?

A: I got same lens (Canon 50mm f/1.4) from awhile back. I notice same thing when I first install it. Now, I'm not sure how tight are we talking, but mine is somewhat tight compare to my previous lenses, but not as tight that I would have to really force it in so I kept on using it and now it seems normal compare before and didn't see any difference on performance from the first time using it. Hope this helps.

Q: 7. Will this work on Canon 1DMark III ? (APS-H)This lens is full frame and APS-C?

A: The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens will be compatible with the Canon 1DMarkIII. It works on both full frame and APS-C.

Q: 8. Will this lens work with 6d mark II, is it compatible with a full frame sensor?

A: Yes it will fit on a Canon 6D Mark II and it is compatible with a full frame sensor.

Q: 9. Can this lens be used on the Canon RP camera?

A: Yes with Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R B&H # CAMAEFRF

Q: 10. Is the 50mm 1.4 more sharper and more versatile than the 40mm 2.8 lens? Which one would you suggest for the money

A: The wider aperture on the 50mm lens will render a shallower depth of field (more background blur) than f2.8 will on the 40mm lens and will also allow for faster shutter speeds in low light situations than the 40mm would for the same reason. Id select the 50mm lens over the 40mm lens because of this. The 40mm lens is more ideal for someone wanting to carry a more compact/low profile camera.

The lens appears well constructed and solid. It is very fast focusing and the depth of field of 1.4 produces an exceptional bokeh. You have to be careful with the approach, it must be accurate, in 1.4

I can be easily called pixel peeper. Sharpens is one of the most important element of a lens for me. I can do the rest. I am so happy with this 50 mm lens, that each time I look see how sharp my images I find my self smiling.

As much as I enjoy using my Canon 100 mm macro lens, this Canon EF 50mm portrait lens is my go-to lens. This is the lens I keep on my camera all the time to capture nearly every photography moment. I highly recommend this lens for portrait as well as general landscape photography. If you don't want to bother to actually use your macro lens, this lens works pretty well for macro photography as well. You can't go wrong adding this lens to your collection.
