Was in need of a telephoto lens for my Sony A7RIII that wouldn't break the bank--I'm not a professional photographer, so I'm not spending that $$$$ for Sony glass. I was considering this Sigma or a Tamron, but ultimately picked the Sigma thanks to the few extra features (AFL button, OS, build quality, etc...). No regrets! I've only had it for a few days but it hasn't left my camera since. Genuinely can't wait to get out and test it further! Haven't been this enthusiastic about a lens in a long time.

Perfect for surf photography! The autofocus works very well on my Sony a6300. No complaints!

Love the IQ my only beef is that it doesn't come with a tripod mount for that you have to add another $130 (more than 10%of the price )

I use this lens on my SL2, thank goodness for Sigma & Panasonic! Leica lenses are so very expensive, I cannot afford one at this moment in time!! The lens is light enough to carry around shooting wildlife handheld, but mounted on a tripod is a breath of fresh air for this aging photographer! The lens is sharp and full of detail while being affordable! I would recommend this lens, thanks B& H!! King of Beasts Photography! ;)

Excellent results with up close and personal photos.

It’s better than expected. I casually pointed the lens at the while moon in a blue sky at around 5pm and, to my astonishment, it captured a picture that awed my photographer friend. You can clearly see the dents on the moon surface, sharp and clear. It certainly gives you a few that’s not perceivable to human eyes.

I was looking at the Sony G 100-400mm but thought I'd give this Sigma a try. Good idea! In head-to-head comparisons with the Sony (my wife has one) the optical quality was indistinguishable. You lose 1/2 a stop but at 40% of the price I can live with that. One caveat--this lens does not work with the Sony teleconverters.

I use this lens with a Sony a7III. It is fast to autofocus and the pictures are very sharp. I went from a Tamron 150-600 with adapter. I lost on the range but the autofocus is night and day. The weight makes also a huge difference when hiking. I definitely recommend this lens.

This lens is not only a budget alternative to Sony's expensive telephoto lenses. It has its own charms, and - believe me - it's worth discovering them.
