The tan Countryman E6X Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 3.5mm locking Connector for Happie Amp or Empower Sound Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Happie Amp or Empower Sound and Amazing Amp wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this be compatible with both Nissin Di700A and i60A for MFT?

A: Yes it will once released. There are some advanced features on the new Air 10s that are designed for future flashes so some of the features will not work, but you will be able to get some additional features by using the Air 10s.

Q: 2. Will the X1r work with other brands? Like the Phottix indra. And does HSS works? Thank you

A: No, this will not work with Phottix brand receivers. Use this with a Godox transmitter such as the X1T, X2, or XPRO.

Q: 3. Which zoom range dies the YN685 have on a cropped sensor camera?

A: The YN685 detects when it is connected to a crop sensor camera and appears to track the effective lens focal length while displaying the lens's stated focal length (which is pretty much standard industry practice). Due to the fact that the strobe's native zoom range is 20 to 200 mm, it's ability to track a zoom lens runs out of range at 200 / crop factor (125 mm on Canon's 1.6x crop sensors and 133 mm on Nikon or other 1.5x crop sensors). Once you hit the end of the strobe's zoom range, you'll get light fall off as the beam width exceeds the lens's viewing angle but, fact is, most uses for speedlites with long lenses put the strobes on stands anyway so the zoom tracking issue is moot. Were you to camera mount the flash with, say, a 70 - 200 mm zoom, the YN685 will track out to it's maximum and then run wide as mentioned before.BTW, I have two of these units that I use interchangeably on two full frame and one crop-sensor body. They have been great.

Q: 4. The YN685N specs say that it has 7 channels and 6 groups. However: 1. on mine only groups A,B andC are shown 2.the 622TX only shows groups A,B and C. How do I get access to control groups D and E?

A: You only have 6 groups and 16 channels when the flash is in 603 slave mode. Otherwise there are only 3 groups and 7 channels in all other modes that support groups/channels.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with Nikon Df?

A: It should. The specs for the Df show that it supports Nikon iTTL flash and I noticed that Nikon Speed lights are recommended accessories. So the YN685 should be compatible.

Q: 6. Can I trigger theX1R-N on an SB910 with the X2T-N trigger on my D4 ?

A: Yes, the following two systems will communicate with your flash system.

Q: 7. I have a Canon 7D and was wondering if I can use the pop-up flash on the camera to trigger the YN685? It works with my YN560, but I can't find anything about triggering the YN685 in slave mode with another flash.

A: No, the YN685 only has a radio sync system. It does not have an optical one to work with the popup flash on the Canon 7D.

Q: 8. I used my YN685 for the first time this weekend with Duracell 2500 mha rechargeable batteries and after 84 pops in TTL mode the flash told me that the batteries were dead and needed to replace them. I had to go back to the SB800 where I get around 500 pops in TTL mode with the same batteries. Is this a normal function with this flash or is it defective? Also, I recharged the batteries I used in the YN685 and my Maha 8000 charger and it told me that only 500 mha were used out of the 2500 whereas the same batteries out of the SB800 were charged to 2500 which meant that I used them completely. Do I need to return the the unit and get a replacement?

A: You might want to try Panasonic eneloop batteries. I have used them in my YN-685 and YN-560IV and YN-568EX without an issue.

Q: 9. These do work with alien bee strobes?

A: They can work with any strobes one you have the correct cable to connect receiver to strobe.

Q: 10. Does Nikon SU-800 work high speed sync photography ?

A: Yes it does. (i actually bought it for that) Check check also the flash model you are using just to make sure that it does high speed and is compatible with the su-800
