The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and features a 4-pin Hirose connector for specific* Audio-Technica transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Sony a7 IV work with Canon 'L' lenses ?

A: Sony A7IV has a Sony E mount so it won't accept Canon lenses. If your Canon lens is EF mount you can use this adapter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1314043-REG/metabones_mb_ef_e_bt5_canon_ef_e_mount_t.html

Q: 2. Does third party lens image image stabilization work in parallel with the camera IBIS and Metabones or other 3rd party adapters?

A: When using adapted lenses with the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera, the stabilization will not work in parallel with the IBIS. You can choose to use either lens stabilization or camera stabilization but using both would result in blurred photos. Dual stabilization can only be achieved with a few select Sony native E mount lenses.

Q: 3. In the process of building a small video production studio and choosing gear. I'm not the camera op and fairly ignorant on this topic, obviously. If we will do principal shooting on two Sony FX6's and looking for one more camera to double as a third camera in studio and principally for run and gun, vlogging, & video conferencing. Am I right to assume this is a great option and great value to cover these use cases?

A: Yes, the A7 IV would be an excellent option to add as a third camera to your current Sony set-up.

Q: 4. Remote port? Does it have one vs the a7c dog without?

A: Yes, it has a Multi / Micro USB Terminal.

Q: 5. Does this model have voice memo like a99ii?

A: Unfortunately, no, the Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Digital Camera does not have a voice memo option.

Q: 6. Will we have the same amount of focus points and snappiness for real time eye AF in Super 35 4k60p mode like in full sensor read out mode aka 4k24p/30p?

A: The full frame Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera (B&H# SOA74) has 759 on-sensor phase detection focus points as well as 425 contrast detection points. They reside in the center 94% of the sensor image area, leaving only a thin border around them without such designated points. However, when shooting in cropped (APS-C/Super 35) mode, the number of such points is about half of those figures. According to the AF algorithm, the camera will choose the appropriate point(s) at which to focus and then use that/those focus point(s) to attain critical focus. In AF-S mode, the additional step of using contrast AF to confirm focus is used to maximize accuracy. . . at the cost of very slightly reducing focus speed. Since cropped mode reduces the number of points from which to choose, it's possible that focus is very slightly faster when shooting like that. . . but from our experience it's just not noticeable as once the point(s) has/have been selected the actual focusing is the same speed. The area that point is in doesn't make it any faster, whether that's in the wider, full frame, or the APS-C/Super 35 middle part of the frame. If focus speed is a concern, be sure to shoot in AF-C and continuous mode with focus speed set at maximum. In video mode, set AF Transition Speed to 7 (i.e. fastest). Relatedly, if you want the focus to jump quickly to new subjects specifically that may be entering the frame then also set AF Subj. Shift Sensitivity to 7. (You won't set the AF Subj. Shift Sensitivity to a high number (such as 7) if you want focus to stay on the current subject of focus for tenaciously.)

Q: 7. Will it take the Sony VG-C4EM Vertical Grip?

A: Yes, VG-C4EM is the correct grip for this camera.

Q: 8. On A7 4 when we record on APSC mode (35mm sensor crop) then we will still get 4k video image ?? Cause I dont have full frame lenses and I want 4k video so need to know this if its possible on this camera or not

A: Yes, the Sony A7IV can shoot/output at 4K resolutions in Super35/APS-C crop mode.

Q: 9. Can I use my old macro lens from my Eos Rebel T4i, Canon EF-S Telephoto Zoom 55-250mm, with the Sony A7 IV?

A: Regarding the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera with 28-70mm Lens and Accessories Kit, yes, you are able to use the Canon EF-S Telephoto Zoom 55-250mm with an adapter for the Sony a7 IV. Just keep in mind that the Canon EF-S Telephoto Zoom 55-250mm is meant for a crop sensor camera.

Q: 10. What color is the focusing spot? I am thinking of trading in my A7iii because the focusing spot is grey and difficult to see.

A: With the IV you can change the color of the dots. For the a7 III you can also update to version 3 of the firmware to allow you to change the color of these dots.
