Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Earset Head-worn Microphone (black)

The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.
The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.
The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is black and features a Switchcraft TA4F connector for Revolabs transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color earset suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.
The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.
The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.
This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture strong vocals without noise and distortion. The high headroom is well suited for singers and performers in stage and broadcast applications.

Q: 1. Tripod legs to pair with this head?
A: anything that is heavy-duty (not lightweight) since this head is almost 2 lbs.
Q: 2. Does this head have adjustments for all 3 axis? I'm only seeing two.
A: Yes, the Sunwayfoto GH-PROIIS Geared Tripod Head has the same range of movement as other standard camera heads.
Q: 3. I just got my tripod with this head delivered. The tilt grag only turns about 3/4 turn from max drag to min. drag. When set to minimum drag, the head still bounces back up (with Nitrogen piston at minimum all--about 9 turns on that dial). Is something wrong with my head? Is there someway to get the drag fully loosened? I can't set the camera to not bounce back to level when I let go.
A: You have three adjustments. Two are for resistance which has nothing to do with stability of your camera. Resistance settings are only for resistance during a move. These are pan and tilt. When setting up the camera you should set these as loose as you can get them. Counter Clockwise is more resistance and Clockwise less resistance. The Nitrogen Piston setting is based on the weight of the camera. Again you need to set the Piston setting. Again clockwise tightens and counter clockwise loosens. Whe setting up the camera you need to be as clockwise as possible and then make sure that the camera plate and camera are balanced (not falling forward or backward). Once you have the camera balanced the turn the Nitrogen Piston Knob all the way counter clockwise and then back it off until your camera stablizes its position no mater what angle it is in. Then you can adjust the resistance to your preference. We have a rigging kit with follow focus and barn doors, so we had to add weight to the back of the rig for balancing. Normally you won't need to do this. If you have questions you can give us a call. 720-493-9966. Hope this helps. Bjarne Blume AVCOM Media Production
Q: 4. Does this work with the ad600 pro?
A: The following unit will only adapt to the AD300 unit.
Q: 5. Can someone with experience with both tell me how this head compares with the Sachtler FSB-6 head (not in specs, but actual use and performance)?
A: The biggest benefit on the Manfrotto head is the price to features value. Considering that the Nitrotech comes in at virtually one third of the price of the Sachtler, of course, if budgetary considerations are a primary factor, then the Manfrotto model makes perfect sense and is a very respectable option. Having said that, there are some "real life" comparisons out there in the forums world that would be very beneficial to consider, since as a impartial observers we can only comment on the obvious specs, as listed by each manufacturer, which is not the original intent of this inquiry.
Q: 6. Can the quick release be rotated 90 degrees, so one can use this head with an L-bracket (plus lens with no tripod collar)?
A: The QR clamp does not rotate. A QR plate is included for mounting any camera to the head.
Q: 7. Will this still work if my camera weighs slightly under 4kg? Sometimes my rig weighs around 2.5 - 3.5kg
A: It will not. The load needs to be between 8.8 to 26.4 lb / 4 to 12 kg for the camera to properly balance. The only way you'd be able to use the head would be with it locked down, making it so you cannot pan and tilt for a shot.
Q: 8. does this come with the plate?
A: Yes
Q: 9. What is the difference between this head vs 0705 FSB-8T?
A: The T stands for Touch & Go plate. The FSB 8 comes with sideload attachment of camera plate
Q: 10. I have a 190XPROB Tripod currently and am wanting to know if the Nitrotech 608 will mount to my plate?
A: This head has a 3/8"-16 Thread which you will be able to attach to a flat base tripod like the 190XPROB. They are compatible.
