The Schoeps CCM 4XP LG Compact Condenser Microphone (Cardioid, Detachable Lemo to XLR-3M) is a miniaturization of classic condenser microphone technology, without a compromise in sonic quality. The microphone features the same capsule as the equivalent Collete Series microphone with comparable amplifier circuitry but in a much smaller length. The capsule and amplifier are inseparable within a single housing.

As a true condenser, the microphone delivers a low noise and distortion flat frequency response without the need for electronic frequency correction. Its small and lightweight form factor makes it appropriate for universal use including installed hanging applications. It can run on both +48V and +12V phantom power and be used with very long cables over 328' (100 m) in length.

Strong Proximity Attenuation    Does Not Require Frequency Correction    Balanced Low-Impedance Output    For Universal Use    Suitable For Installed Applications    Compact and Lightweight Form Factor    Sound Independent of Directional Pattern    Runs on 48V and 12V Phantom Power    Works with Cables Over 100 Meters

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the best shock mount for the Rode NT3 condenser mic?

A: The RODE NT3 3/4" Cardioid Condenser Microphone comes with the RODE Stand Mount for NT3, 4, and Other Condenser Microphones (B&H # RORM3), but you can use a shock mount like the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII) or the Rycote INV-BH InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting (B&H # RYIVBH), which will both accommodate the NT3 on a stand or boompole.

Q: 2. Will this cable work to connect a schoeps CMBI to a regular 3 pin xlr input with phantom power?

A: The CMBI is designed for connection to unbalanced high impedance inputs and to allow the capsules to be battery powered or powered externally via plug in power (+6v max) . It would not be compatible with the K 5 LU or phantom power.

Q: 3. Can this be paired with itself for stereo input to say, Zoom H6 recorder, for dSLR TRS minijack input? Need to record high end performances without post-processing.

A: This is a mono microphone that requires phantom power. It will not work directly with a miniplug without a power supply.

Q: 4. Having this microphone a built in amplifier does it require phantom power?

A: Yes, the Schoeps CCM 41 LG does require phantom power.

Q: 5. Does it work with huawei mate 10? And is recognized by apps like Smule?

A: Yes. With a USB C to 3.5mm TRRS adaptor: B&H #: ILI115ADBK this mic will work.

Q: 6. Is this a stereo set for $1,200?

A: Yes, this is a stereo set.

Q: 7. What is the self noise of the Blue Ember? I have been looking at tech specs on the Blue website and other sources and can't seem to find the stated self noise.

A: The manufacturer has not provided any specifications for self noise on the Blue Ember microphone. You can contact Blue Microphones directly to ask if they can provide this information to you. You can reach them by phone at 866-989-2583.

Q: 8. What is the size and weight of this microphone?

A: As per the Manufacturer: CCM 41 LG Length: 46 mm Diameter: 20 mm Weight: 45 g

Q: 9. Could this mic also be used as an overhead for an interview with good results?

A: Unlikely. It is not designed for that purpose. Dependant on distance and room acoustics; this mic is designed for close proximity, generally within inches of a musical instrument. That said, in a quiet room, with 1-2' of distance this mic MAY obtain good results for a single person.

Q: 10. Hi, since this mic is no longer availbile, which would be a similar mic?

A: The AKG P170 (B&H #AKP170B) could be considered quite similar to the Audio-Technica AT2021 Cardioid Condenser Microphone.
