The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is cocoa and features a Lectrosonics connector for use with Lectrosonics wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).

This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the quick release be rotated 90 degrees, so one can use this head with an L-bracket (plus lens with no tripod collar)?

A: The QR clamp does not rotate. A QR plate is included for mounting any camera to the head.

Q: 2. Can the quick release be rotated 90 degrees?

A: If you mean the qr clamp, yes, you can unscrew the clamp and turn it 90 degrees.

Q: 3. How well will this head work with longer lenses, such as a Canon 600mm VII?

A: This tripod head works well with longer lenses such as the canon 600mm. It is a fluid head which helps create smooth motion. it also has drag control to increase/decrease the resistance as you pan and tilt. When using a tripod head like this it is best to make sure the lens/camera is balanced on the head (not too far backwards or forwards) to get optimal performance.

Q: 4. My plate on the camera runs left to right (length wise). Can the clamp be mounted in 90 degree configuration?

A: The clamp can be rotated 90.

Q: 5. Will a Manfrotto 501 plate fit on this head?

A: This head is not compatible with Manfrotto 501 plates.

Q: 6. Will it fit the Peak Design travel tripod?

A: Not really suggest as a bushing would have to be set in place in order to mount system. The following is needed in order to do so. Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing BH #OB1039 • MFR #OB-1039 https://bhpho.to/3FsBYah

Q: 7. I have a 190XPROB Tripod currently and am wanting to know if the Nitrotech 608 will mount to my plate?

A: This head has a 3/8"-16 Thread which you will be able to attach to a flat base tripod like the 190XPROB. They are compatible.

Q: 8. Tripod legs to pair with this head?

A: anything that is heavy-duty (not lightweight) since this head is almost 2 lbs.

Q: 9. Can someone with experience with both tell me how this head compares with the Sachtler FSB-6 head (not in specs, but actual use and performance)?

A: The biggest benefit on the Manfrotto head is the price to features value. Considering that the Nitrotech comes in at virtually one third of the price of the Sachtler, of course, if budgetary considerations are a primary factor, then the Manfrotto model makes perfect sense and is a very respectable option. Having said that, there are some "real life" comparisons out there in the forums world that would be very beneficial to consider, since as a impartial observers we can only comment on the obvious specs, as listed by each manufacturer, which is not the original intent of this inquiry.

Q: 10. Will this still work if my camera weighs slightly under 4kg? Sometimes my rig weighs around 2.5 - 3.5kg

A: It will not. The load needs to be between 8.8 to 26.4 lb / 4 to 12 kg for the camera to properly balance. The only way you'd be able to use the head would be with it locked down, making it so you cannot pan and tilt for a shot.
