The light beige Countryman E6 Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Standard Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and TA3F Connector for Audix Wireless Transmitters is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6 earset's cable terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to Audix B60 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.

The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Why does the manual say "Do not use at altitudes above 2,000m (6,561 feet)"?

A: It is due to cooling at high temperatures.

Q: 2. can the increments for aperture and shutter be set independently? IE can I set 1/2 stop aperture increments then set 1 stop shutter increments?

A: Yes, stop increments for shutter and aperture can be set individually on the Sekonic Speedmaster L-858D-U Light Meter.

Q: 3. Are there any filmmaking features from the 758Cine that aren't found in the 858?

A: Short answer: No. Longer answer: the L-858D has more features and user adaptability than any meter ever created. That is because it is a computer with meter functions and has a display screen that is built on the fly. I do love my 758 but the fixed LCD display simply cannot display all the elements that a color dot matrix screen can. For Cine, the 758 and 858 both have an expanded frame rate and shutter angles. However, the 858 lets you create your own frame rates and shutter angles useful when encountering some weird discontinuous lighting that would flicker with common frame rates. Or for a special slow or fast visual. The 858 has a whole filter biasing system in it. This started in the 758 Cine. Greatly expanded with the 858 and it lets you enter your own filter factors and name them. I have both the 758 and 858 ( work on the instruction manuals) and will keep and use them both. I like what the 758 does for exposure decisions for landscape photography. For almost everything else, the 858 is starting to be my favorite. The radio triggering feature for studio lights (spell that Elinchrom) is worth the price of admission. Hope that helps.

Q: 4. Does this work with PROFOTO B10 PLUS?

A: No, you can not trigger the Profoto B10 flash head from Sekonic Speedmaster L-858D-U Light Meter or control the flash exposure. Sekonic only makes this lightmeter with modules for Broncolor, Godox, Elinchrom, Phottix, and PocketWizard. YOu will need the Air remote for Profoto B-10.

Q: 5. Is there a way to display the continued measurements in the 1-Degree Viewfinder Spot using the L-858D-U-U light meter as Sekonic L-758DR Spot meter does?

A: Yes, you can display continued measurements in the 1-Degree Viewfinder Spot on the Sekonic L-858D-U Speedmaster Light Meter Kit with Transmitter Module for Godox.

Q: 6. am from Asia 7 use PocketWizrd and Elinchrome ; can i also use this L-858D with the Sekonic RT-3PW Transmitter Module (433MHz, CE)?

A: Sekonic L-858D-U Speedmaster Light Meter Kit with Transmitter Module for Elinchrom & Phottix can be used in Asia as long as the triggers are also from the US.

Q: 7. Is it correct that this kit only includes 1 v-mount battery plate?

A: Yes. Based on the product page, SmallRig RC 220B Bi-Color LED Monolight (2-Light Kit) only comes with a single SmallRig V-Mount Battery Plate. It would be best to add on an additional SmallRig V-Mount Battery Plate if you need them to both run on V-Mount batteries.

Q: 8. Does any light meter take into account an APS-C sensor in its readings?

A: No, it does not. A sensor's crop factor has no effect or bearing on the exposure of the image.

Q: 9. Is there transmitter Module for Profoto?

A: Sekonic does not make a transmitter module that works with the Profoto System.

Q: 10. When using the flash in hss mode at a certain power output level for example at 1/2 power lever, then if i press the test flash button from trigger and measure with seconic light metre, the meter will show the camera setting for 1/2 power flash output in normal setting but not in hss mode. but power of a flash is normally lower in hss mode than in normal mode. with the transmiter of this seconic light meter, if we press the test button can it give us the correct camera setting in hss mode or we have make a test shot from the camera?

A: According to Sekonic, they state that when measuring HSS output, the camera has to be test-fired, meaning you have to press the shutter button on the camera (or use a remote release to trigger the shutter). Using the [TEST] button on the flash will not work when attempting to record HSS output for exposure purposes.
