The light beige Countryman E6X Directional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and LEMO 3-pin Connector for WisyCom Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6X earset's cable terminates to a LEMO 3-pin connector for direct connection to WisyCom MTP30, MTP40, MTP40S, MTP41, and MTP41S wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The L858 is a complex device offering a wide range of features good for professionals. My question is whether the basic function of metering -- whether in reflective, spot or incident -- is more accurate AND consistent in this model over other less expensive Sekonic meters. Or, are you just paying for all the extra features?

A: The added features would give this meter a higher price point. Whether the added features are something you need depends on how you will use the meter primarily.

Q: 2. The Phottix Transmitter Module says it works with the Strato 2 & Ares 2 protocols, does this mean it wont work with Odin speedlight receivers and the Indra set to the Odin receiver setting?

A: Yes, it won't.

Q: 3. Will L 858D-U work outside US as I would be travelling for work often?

A: Sekonic L-858D-U Speedmaster Light Meter Kit with Transmitter Module for Godox does work outside of the USA.

Q: 4. Can these lights be dimmed using a phase-type dimmer such as an NSI/Leviton dimmer pack?

A: The Impact Qualite QL-3560 Daylight LED Floodlight is not designed to work with dimmer packs. It has not been tested. And it does have a dimmer built into the light.

Q: 5. How many lumens of intensity does it have approximately? and also the equivalent to watts, how much would it be?

A: The photometrics are 98,700lux @ 1m with a hyper reflector. It is a 260w draw LED.

Q: 6. can the increments for aperture and shutter be set independently? IE can I set 1/2 stop aperture increments then set 1 stop shutter increments?

A: Yes, stop increments for shutter and aperture can be set individually on the Sekonic Speedmaster L-858D-U Light Meter.

Q: 7. What's the max power output and how this light compares with the Araman 200d @1m with the 55 reflector?

A: In comparing the RC 220B at 5600K, it would provide 84500 lux at 1m with its hyper reflector attached versus the Amaran 200d which provides 65,000 lux at the same distance and also with its hyper reflector attached.

Q: 8. I have an issue with the L-858D-U with Godox transmitter kit. When I switch it on I get an error message, "Radio Transmitter Installed Cannot Be Used In This Meter". I have already sent a copy back for having the same issue. Am I missing an obvious set up step? As it is sold as a kit and the transmitter is already installed in the unit I am surprised that it doesn't work straight out of the box.

A: This is a known issue that will be remedied by updating the firmware.

Q: 9. Does any light meter take into account an APS-C sensor in its readings?

A: No, it does not. A sensor's crop factor has no effect or bearing on the exposure of the image.

Q: 10. Does it come with a 7" reflector?

A: Yes, the SmallRig RC 220D Daylight LED Monolight does come with a Hyper Reflector.
