Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the flip leg locks in this tripod made of aluminum or plastic?

A: They are made of aluminum. The locking systiem is plastic like most of tripods.

Q: 2. Can this support a nikon z6 with a 24-70 2.8 ?

A: Yes it can. This tripod has an 8.8 pound load capacity.

Q: 3. manfrotto 501PL arca swiss

A: Manfrotto has its own proprietary quick release system. You can adapt it by attaching a Arca Swiss type clamp to the Manfrotto quick release. Desmond DAC-X1 50mm Quick Release Skeleton Clamp B&H # DEDACX1 is but one possibility.

Q: 4. Can I connect the DJI Ronin-S plate to this tripod?

A: Its a standard 1/4-20 thread so you can always use a 1/4-20 bolt if you need a little more length. The ronin is the same I believe

Q: 5. Is there an L-bracket or something I can use to mount my D500 on this for vertical shooting? Thanks.

A: Yes there is. Manfrotto offers the Q5 L Bracket which has a 501PL style connection plate, BH #MAQ5LB. https://bhpho.to/31HGa3k

Q: 6. Does it still shift out to wrong leveling when tightening the leveling lock, like old Befree Live (MVKBFR-LIVE) ?

A: We have not seen the issue described and have not had any user feedback in that regard.

Q: 7. I would like to use this tripod for night photography as well as for video. Is the tripod sufficiently steady for exposures up to 30 seconds?

A: While it is of course imperative that you have a tight, strong (8.8lbs payload) tripod like the Manfrotto Befree Live Video Tripod, it is even more important that you apply correct long exposure techniques. If you do not, you will defeat the steadiness of any tripod. For long exposures outside at night I would suggest the following to avoid sharpness killing vibration: 1. Keep the center column down. 2. Use a timer or wireless remote. 3. Remove or tie down the camera shoulder strap to prevent it flapping in the wind. 4. Hang from the hook on the bottom of the BeFrees center column your camera bag, a gallon jug or a nylon bag with rocks or a rope that you step on. 5. Shoot with the mirror up. Apply all these techniques to the BeFree and you will come back with sharp pictures.

Q: 8. Can the tripod head tilt to shoot completely vertical?

A: Yes, this has a -90 degree angle.

Q: 9. What does "no easy link" mean?

A: The Easy Link is a connection that allows you to attach accessories to the tripod. That features is not available on the version that says "No easy link".

Q: 10. can I use my Sony fs700 with this tripod. I'm looking for a replacement that was stolen

A: Yes, this tripod can hold your fs700, but it is a light tripod that is best suited for lighter cameras. If you are looking to just lock down a camera, this tripod works fine. If you plan to do smooth pans and tilts, there are better options out there that are likely to weigh a bit more. If you liked the one that got stolen, get another one of the same kind...
