The light beige Countryman E6X Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and 3.5mm Connector for Amplivox Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm connector for direct connection to Amplivox S-1600T and S-1690T wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Q: 1. Why is the Sekonic Broncolor Transmitter Module a recommended accessory when it comes with the kit?

A: While not necessary since this SKU comes with the Broncolor transmitter module, we've listed it under the recommended accessories so customer with just the light meter would be able to quickly find the necessary module for Broncolor's radio triggering protocol if they were looking to "upgrade", per se.

Q: 2. I have an issue with the L-858D-U with Godox transmitter kit. When I switch it on I get an error message, "Radio Transmitter Installed Cannot Be Used In This Meter". I have already sent a copy back for having the same issue. Am I missing an obvious set up step? As it is sold as a kit and the transmitter is already installed in the unit I am surprised that it doesn't work straight out of the box.

A: This is a known issue that will be remedied by updating the firmware.

Q: 3. What's the max power output and how this light compares with the Araman 200d @1m with the 55 reflector?

A: In comparing the RC 220B at 5600K, it would provide 84500 lux at 1m with its hyper reflector attached versus the Amaran 200d which provides 65,000 lux at the same distance and also with its hyper reflector attached.

Q: 4. Can this meter measure the LUX of a flash? Many meters only seem to be able to measure LUX of ambient lighting.

A: In Ambient Light Illuminance lux (or foot candle) Mode (Incident light measurement) only.

Q: 5. Does it work with the Phottix Odin II system?

A: The L-858D-U RT-EL/PX transmitter module operates on the Stratos II/Ares II protocol, which according to Phottix, does not trigger Odin II receivers*. As of 12/8/2020, there doesn't seem to be a firmware update yet available that might accommodate the Odin II system, or it might be a hardware incompatibility that is causing the restriction. *https://bit.ly/3nbSCRL
