The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a Screw-on Mini 4-pin connector for Sabine transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included 2mm Diameter Duramax Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters. The Duramax 2mm diameter cable provides extra strength, flexibility and durability.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are people having the overheating problem when shooting photos or just with video?

A: Upon release in 2021, the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera did have issues with overheating. However, since its release, there have been firmware updates that have improved the camera's overheating performance issues. Overheating typically only occurs during video recording and when there are high ambient temperatures.

Q: 2. Does this camera use the same batteries as a a7ii ?

A: The Sony Alpha a7 II Mirrorless Digital Camera and the Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Digital Camera do not use the same battery. The Sony a7 II Mirrorless Camera uses the older Sony NP-FW50 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery (1020mAh), B&H # SONPFW50, whereas the new Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera uses the newer Sony NP-FZ100 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery (2280mAh), B&H # SONPFZ100.

Q: 3. It says this camera records 4K at 60fps but people say it is only 30fps. Which is it, please ?

A: The Sony A7IV does shoot in 4K60, but can only do so in Super35 crop mode.

Q: 4. Is the A7IV compatible with wireless flash? With no flash sync terminal how does the camera communicate with studio strobes?

A: Regarding the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera with Accessories Kit, for a wireless flash, you will need a remote attached to the hot shoe. The remote will communicate with the flash.

Q: 5. with the a7iii white balance with flash was typically off for stills, has this problem been addressed?

A: White balance performance on the Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Digital Camera has been improved, and when using the Sony HVL-F60RM2 and HVL-F46RM, automatic correction of white balalce will be applied based on the color temperature information from the flash. The new system also links face detection for auto white balance (AWB) and flash level control which helps to give natural color tone on faces.

Q: 6. Is there a waveform monitor in video mode?

A: No. The following unit does not offer waveform monitor an external display would be needed that offers waveform.

Q: 7. Is a new battery grip to be manufactured for this camera?

A: The A7IV will use and share the Sony VG-C4EM along with other cameras like the A7SIII and A1.

Q: 8. The Sony a7iv can NOT do full frame oversampled 4k30p in H.256 according to Sony's website and this B&H product specs page. It can only do oversampled 4k30 in other codecs like h.264 or XAVC S-I. So this camera has no 4k30 in H.265, is that correct? :(

A: 4K60p is only available from a Super 35 recording area. Up to 4K30p is possible using the full-frame area (with full pixel readout and 7K oversampling).

Q: 9. Can you use a CF express, Type B card?

A: The Sony A7 IV only accepts CFExpress Type A cards or SD cards.

Q: 10. How to open the card slot?

A: To open the memory card port on the a7IV, you need to push the switch on the memory cad door down. Page 77 in the manual describes that. The link for that is, https://bhpho.to/3BSa0CT
