The Countryman E6i Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.
The omnidirectional version is most common in applications where feedback issues are not very likely. The microphone can be worn without a windscreen as the omnidirectional capsule provides excellent wind noise rejection.
The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.
A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a 4-pin Push-lock connector for Lightspeed transmitters.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear pads. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.
The included 1mm Diameter Cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.
The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.
This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture general speech without noise and distortion.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does this camera have GYRO DATA Stabilization ?
A: Yes, the A7IV records gyroscopic data for stabilization during post-processing in Sony Catalyst.
Q: 2. In a7iii the Face Focus stops when you shoot in 120fps... In the a7iv is possible to shoot in 120fps with Face Focus?
A: No, Face Focus will not engage at 120fps.
Q: 3. Hello, has there been any solutions offered by SONY to address the reports of overheating?
A: To reduce overheating issues with the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera and other cameras, here are some potential solutions: - While shooting, use the LCD screen swung out. - Use an external battery and record to an external recorder and not an internal memory card. Please note that overheating often happens when shooting in 4K at the highest fps.
Q: 4. Does it have a S&Q mode that can select variable frame rate from 1 fps to 240 fps?
A: The Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera does have a S&Q mode from 1fps to 120fps. There is no option for 240fps.
Q: 5. When the camera is off, I can hear a clunking sound when I rotate the camera. Is this normal?
A: What you hear is the in body stabilization system which is normal?
Q: 6. In the process of building a small video production studio and choosing gear. I'm not the camera op and fairly ignorant on this topic, obviously. If we will do principal shooting on two Sony FX6's and looking for one more camera to double as a third camera in studio and principally for run and gun, vlogging, & video conferencing. Am I right to assume this is a great option and great value to cover these use cases?
A: Yes, the A7 IV would be an excellent option to add as a third camera to your current Sony set-up.
Q: 7. Will we have the same amount of focus points and snappiness for real time eye AF in Super 35 4k60p mode like in full sensor read out mode aka 4k24p/30p?
A: The full frame Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera (B&H# SOA74) has 759 on-sensor phase detection focus points as well as 425 contrast detection points. They reside in the center 94% of the sensor image area, leaving only a thin border around them without such designated points. However, when shooting in cropped (APS-C/Super 35) mode, the number of such points is about half of those figures. According to the AF algorithm, the camera will choose the appropriate point(s) at which to focus and then use that/those focus point(s) to attain critical focus. In AF-S mode, the additional step of using contrast AF to confirm focus is used to maximize accuracy. . . at the cost of very slightly reducing focus speed. Since cropped mode reduces the number of points from which to choose, it's possible that focus is very slightly faster when shooting like that. . . but from our experience it's just not noticeable as once the point(s) has/have been selected the actual focusing is the same speed. The area that point is in doesn't make it any faster, whether that's in the wider, full frame, or the APS-C/Super 35 middle part of the frame. If focus speed is a concern, be sure to shoot in AF-C and continuous mode with focus speed set at maximum. In video mode, set AF Transition Speed to 7 (i.e. fastest). Relatedly, if you want the focus to jump quickly to new subjects specifically that may be entering the frame then also set AF Subj. Shift Sensitivity to 7. (You won't set the AF Subj. Shift Sensitivity to a high number (such as 7) if you want focus to stay on the current subject of focus for tenaciously.)
Q: 8. Does this camera have clear image zoom for 4k video?
A: Sony's "Clear Image" digital zoom is available at 2x magnification, standard digital zoom up to 4x, and "Smart Zoom" is available where the camera just crops away the unused portion of the image when a lower resolution is selected.
Q: 9. a7iv have pre-capture or pre-shoot for either still or video?
A: The Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera does not have a Pre-Capture feature.
Q: 10. What is the correct Hoodman model to fit a hood over the large viewfinder?
A: If you would like to exchange the eyecup on the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera with Accessories Kit for a larger eyecup I will recommend the Hoodman Glasses Model HoodEYE Eyecup for Select Sony Alpha Camera Models. Please review the following link to find this option: https://bhpho.to/4fjQ27z
