A: Hi, Emmitt!I think you are confused. VR performance, which btw is superior on the newer lens, has nothing to do with optical lens quality. It merely gives you ability to hand hold the camera in poor light condition. The older lens works very well with dx bodies. In general, when it comes to the modern lens, it is not a competition between the lens, but rather the competition between the lens and photographer. It is the skill that matters, not VR vs VRII.

Although this lens is FX format, which is full frame, and the D7200 is DX format, which has a sensor that is 1.5x smaller, it can still be mounted and used. Your field of view will change by 1.5, so an FX format 70-200mm lens on the DX format camera will have the same field of view as a 105-300mm lens on an FX camera.
