Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I own a 1980s manual focus telephoto Vivitar lens. Currently it has an old style Pentax bayonet K mount adaptor. Can this lens be adapted to the DMC-GX80?

A: The Novoflex Pentax K to Micro Four Thirds Lens Adapter, B&H # NOAPKMFT, or the Dot Line Micro Four Thirds Adapter for Pentax K Lenses, B&H # DODL0829, would allow you to use an older manual focus Pentax K-mount lens on the Micro Four Thirds lens mount used on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX80 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 2. Is there any way whatsoever to charge extra batteries other than while they are in the camera?

A: There are a number of of external charger options available. Panasonic offers a travel bundle with an extra DMW-BLG10 battery and external charger. If you're looking at a non-OEM external charger, just make sure that it is compatible with the GX85's battery i.e. the DMW-BLG10.

Q: 3. The top compartment - is it large enough for a sweatshirt/light jacket?

A: Yes it would be large enough for a sweatshirt/light jacket.

Q: 4. Does this have wifi sharing capabilities?

A: No, the Olympus E-PM1 Mirrorless offers no wifi sharing.

Q: 5. Is there a AC adapter available For the GX85 to replace the battery?

A: As I understand your question, you are asking if one can use the GX85 firm an AC adapter in place of the battery. I see a little trap door in the battery cover through which such adapter, if it exists, would probably be connected to the camera (with the battery removed). I don't know if such adapter exists and I recommend that you contact Panasonic for this. If battery capacity is an issue for you, I suggest you buy extra batteries with external chargers, so you can always have a full spare (or two) available. In addition, since GX85 allows the battery to be charged inside the camera, you can connect an external battery pack (like the one used to charge smart phones) to the camera while the camera is stored in its bag. That way your camera battery will be fully charged when you need to use the camera. I hope this helps.

Q: 6. does this have a Warranty?

A: This would have a 3 year manufacturers warranty

Q: 7. Can you use custom camera/colour profiles on the gx85 similar to the Panasonic GH4?

A: The GX85 does not have custom camera profiles.

Q: 8. Why include a (free) battery and charger that's for a different camera? i.e., Panasonic ZS60 / ZS100 Battery & Charger Travel Bundle

A: It is the correct battery and charger for the Lumix DMC-GX85. The text has not been updated but it works with a bunch of different Panasonic cameras.

Q: 9. How does exposure compensation work?

A: There's a dial under the right thumb. Press and turn to over/under expose while viewing the indicator in the viewfinder or on screen. Easy. I use it a lot. You can also use the front dial under the index finger to adjust the flash. There's a good page on the web if you search for GX85 exposure compensation for an illustrated explanation.

Q: 10. What is the Crop in 4K mode, is it 2.2 over full frame like the GH4?

A: The GH4 has a 2.3x crop factor when shooting 4K, and the GX85 will be the same.
