A: actually you can back up a bit, i use it with a sigma 30mm 1.4 DC, i put it manual focus and by playing with the focus ring you can focus a bit farther, even if the lens is close to the subject (something between 2-5 cms or mayb e6). the blur is nice looking but important in the image at this range of shooting. very good quality and ok for details like eyelashes but depending on what you have in mind
