A: Unfortunately 2x teleconverters are not recommended with the Nikon 200-500 AFS f/5.6E ED lens, because its f/5.6 aperture combined with a 2x teleconverter would effectivily be f/11 and the camera would no longer be able to autofocus. We would suggest a 1.4x teleconverter such as Nikon's TC-14E III (B&H # NITC14EIII ) or the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Teleconverter for Nikon F (B&H # SITC1401N) as you requested.Per Nikon: Autofocus is available only with cameras that offer f/8 support. These include the D5, D500, D4/D4S, Df, D850, D810/D810A, D800/D800E, D750, D600/D610, D7100, D7200 and D7500. For cameras that do not support f/8, teleconverters can be used without autofocus.
