A: I use it on a Canon 5D mkII and it works fine. Only drawback is that it does not give autofocus on the trigger-button while in live view mode. The 7D mk1 is very much the same hence it should have the same drawback.I know that the 5D mkIII has autofocus on the trigger in live view so I suspect that 7d mkII would have that as well. Other than autofocus I have not experienced any compatibility issues.
