Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello, will this lens work with a D90 nikon camera?

A: According to Sigma's Lens Compatibility Chart, this lens will not work on the Nikon D90.

Q: 2. Is this lens as heavy as the 150-600 sports lens?

A: The Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM is a slight bit lighter than the 150-600mm Sports. It weighs 5.95 lbs / 2.7 kg versus the 150-600's 6.29 lbs / 2.86 kgs.

Q: 3. will i reatin the auto focus with the sigma tc 1401 ? i have the canon 5d mark iv and the canon mark iii body's

A: No, you would not. When using the Sigma 1.4x Teleconverter (TC-1401) with the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, the lens will become the equivalent of a 84-840mm f/6.3-9, while when using the Sigma 2x Teleconverter (TC-2001) on the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, the lens will become the equivalent of a 120-1200mm f/9-13. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera's autofocus sensor requires the lens to have a maximum aperture (or equivalent maximum aperture) of f/8 or brighter to retain autofocus. The 60-600mm lens would not focus with the 2x teleconverter as the equivalent aperture range is f/9-13. When using the 1.4x teleconverter, it would still be recommended to focus manually, as the equivalent aperture range would be f/6.3-9. While the lens may try to autofocus on the wider focal lengths, focus would be slow, and you would lose focus capability as you zoom to the telephoto zoom settings.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Nikon D7500 and if so would it need an adapter?

A: Yes, Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is design for Nikon F mount cameras. You can mount the lens directly to your Nikon D7500 DSLR. Due to the camera APS-C sensor with 1.5X crop factor the lens focal lenght will increment to 90- 900mm.

Q: 5. Can this lens be used for motor racing events?? I currently use a prime 300 2.8 is i need to add tele converter to make it longer and remove it when i do not need it. or what do you suggest for 2nd option lens??

A: Yes this 60-600 would work well for motor racing if you currently use 300mm 2.8 and want a longer or wider lens where you easily zoom. The downside is the aperture it narrower on the 60-600 so not as good in low light. Motor racing during the day shouldn't be a problem though. Another option would be a Sigma 150-600 Sports if you don't need to go as wide as 60mm. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1082152-REG/sigma_150_600mm_f_5_6_3_dg_os.html

Q: 6. Can I use this lens on a Blackmagic URSA 12k?

A: Yes you can. If you have the EF mount for the camera. https://bhpho.to/2PkggiO

Q: 7. Is this lens parfocal?

A: The Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is not a true parfocal lens.

Q: 8. Does the lens foot come off? How would one mount rods and a lens support to this on say a Red Dsmc2 camera? What size rods? Woudk the lens foot be in the way?

A: Yes, the Tripod collar has a rotating design and the replaceable foot is Arca-type compatible for easy mounting. You can use any universal lens support made for 15mm or 19mm rods. You could use 10 inch or longer rods. Since the collar is replaceable, it will not interfere with this setup.

Q: 9. Tripod thread

A: The mounting thread on the tripod collar is 1/4"

Q: 10. How does this lens perform on a Canon R5 with an EF-RF adapter? Any drop in image sharpness or AF?

A: The Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Canon EF is fully compatible with the Canon R5 when using the Canon EF to RF adapter. There is no loss in optical quality or focusing speed when using the adapter.
