- Product Code: ga256567

The Audix f6 Fusion Series Dynamic Instrument Microphone is designed for capturing kick drums, floor toms, bass cabinets, and more. it features a hypercardioid polar pattern, which is effective in rejecting off-axis noise and feedback as well as isolating the instrument from ambient sounds on stage.
The f6 offers a wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 16 kHz and capable of handling SPLs up to 140 dB, making it a suitable option for miking instruments requiring extended low-frequency reproduction. In addition to the low-end punch, the f6 will also deliver suitable midrange clarity in both recording and sound reinforcement applications.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. can you do Time of Day for timecode?
A: No. The F6 can input and output SMPTE timecode.
Q: 2. Does the F8n have dual-DACs with the 32-bit floating point data as well? Or is this something new with this device?
A: This is something new on the F6 that is not found on the F8n. More info will be posted as Zoom will make it available.
Q: 3. Can I plug this recorder into my camera's 3.5 mic input to record audio so I can bypass camera's preamps?
A: You can use a line-to-mic attenuator cable to connect the 3.5mm line out from the Zoom F6 Multitrack Field Recorder to a 3.5mm mic input on a camera. This would not necessarily bypass the camera's preamps, but it would allow you to use XLR microphones with the preamps on the F6. The F6 will still record higher quality audio than the camera. As options for an attenuating cable, you can use the Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable (B&H # KOACH425MON) which has a built-in headphone tap, the Sescom LN2MIC-ZOOMH4N Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N), or if you need a long cable, the Sescom LN2MIC-ZMH4N-6 Line to Microphone Attenuation Cable for HDSLR Cameras (B&H # SEL2MZH4N6) is 6-feet long.
Q: 4. Does the monitor output a 4k signal if it's present on the input or is the output down converted to HD?
A: Yes, Your 4k input signal would loop out in 4k when using the Feelworld f6 Plus. Supported framerates - support 4K HDMI input and output UHD 4K 3840×2160p (30/29.97/25/24/23.98Hz) DCI 4K 4096×2160p (24Hz)
Q: 5. Is it possible to power the F6 from a v-lock's d-tap with a dummy L-battery? Or from the usb out from a v-lock with the proper cable?
A: Yes you can, and either USB-C or a dummy L-battery will work.
Q: 6. I see you dropped the "Mic Capsule Input", are you moving away from these?
A: No, Zoom is not moving away from it at all. It is on this model that - for one reason or another - Zoom decided not to incorporate it
Q: 7. For quiet ambient recordings are the low noise floor capabilities the same on all F3, F6, F8? Or is the F8 better in this regard to the F6?
A: Yes, the EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) specifications for the preamps of the Zoom F6 6-Input / 14-Track Multitrack Field Recorder as well as those on the Zoom F3 and F8n models all show ≤-127 dBu (A-Weighted), meaning they all produce the same low amount of self noise.
Q: 8. Is it possible to use 4 channels with an ambisonic mic while using the other 2 channels in some combination of lav/boom?
A: Thank you for your question. When using channels 1-4 in Ambisonic mode you still can use 5/6 independently for any combination of boom or lav mic setups.
Q: 9. Any ideas how to take in 1/4 plugged instruments ? DI-box only?
A: A DI box would be the way to go. Whirlwind IMP 2 - Passive, Single Channel Direct Box for PA or Studio B&H # WHIMP2
Q: 10. How do I sync time code between Canon C70 and Zoom F6?
A: Timecode input/output can be connected via the Zoom F6's 3.5mm jack. To connect to a camera, a 3.5mm to BNC Timecode cable can be used.
