The Bower RCWN1R Wireless Shutter Release Set is an extended range wireless system designed for professional and advanced amateur users of select Nikon cameras with a 10-pin connector. The set consist of the receiver and the shutter release transmitter. The remote system is very handy for taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach, or to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure. No other accessory is needed as the sync cable is included with the remote.

A: With the bulb setting you can manually trigger an exposure of any length you are willing to stand around and wait. For compatibility not sure, I have a 2mm male plug for my Lumix. Check with Vello.

A: No. It does not use the shoe for anything but a place to mount receiver. All remote controls go through the wire out to the 10 pin remote terminal on the front right top corner of the camera (Nikon D300S in my case). You can attach with rubber band or tape if you want to use a flash on the hot shoe at the same time.

A: Unfortunately no, this remote only performs the same functions that the camera's shutter button does. The 5D Mark III has a separate red recording button to start and stop video recording. It is also not designed to auto focus in video, only photo.
