Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the weight of the tripod legs and center column without the ball head. I would plan to attach a different head and am trying to figure out what the final weight would be.

A: Without the ball head, it weighs 1.78574lbs or 810grams. The ball head weighs 235g (0.518086lb). You can find all the specs of this tripod on the Slik website.

Q: 2. How do I order another Quick release plate?

A: We are sorry to say that is not a part we sell. That is a Service Part which you'd need to obtain from the manufacturer directly. If you need assistance with that feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 3. Will it fit the Peak Design travel tripod?

A: Not really suggest as a bushing would have to be set in place in order to mount system. The following is needed in order to do so. Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing BH #OB1039 • MFR #OB-1039 https://bhpho.to/3FsBYah

Q: 4. Will an Arca Swiss type plate attach to the top of this? I specifically chose this mode because it doesn't have the proprietary Manfrotto QR plates.

A: Yes. I bought a Hejnar 3.25 Arca type plate. It fits perfectly on top. I had to go to a hardware store to pick up nuts and bolts to secure it down. The thumb nut that comes with the Manfrotto will thread in, but will not prevent twisting since it mates with one thread. You need at least two nuts&bolts to prevent the Arca clamp from twisting on the head.

Q: 5. Can i fit this head on a manfroto 3001pro? the center post doesn't seem to have a compatible top

A: I don't know anything about 3001 pro. However, any tripod with a 3/8 Thread should be able to mount this head.

Q: 6. does this not come with a quick release plate if no what kind of quick release plate can this use??

A: The 128LP does not have a quick release system, it has a screw that you use to secure the camera directly on to the head. However you could add a quick release system to the top of this unit, such as the Manfrotto 394 Low Profile Quick Release Adapter or Oben QRA-R2.

Q: 7. Can I attach an articulating arm (for a monitor) to the unused pan arm connector or does this go against the design?

A: On the articulating arms that B&H has available for mounting accessories, their end mounting screws are either 1/4'-20 or 3/8 -16. The screw holes Sachtler uses to mount their pan handles are an unlisted, unknown metric size so I am afraid the accessory articulation arms will not mount. Otherwise it is valid idea. So much so that Manfrotto makes some of their tripod heads to take 3/8 arms for just the purpose you are proposing. They call it Easy Link. Here is a comparable Manfrotto head with the Easy Link mounts, plus a Manfrotto arm. Manfrotto 509HD Professional Video Head B&H # MA509HD and Manfrotto 244 Micro Friction Arm B&H # MA244MICRO.

Q: 8. I recently took deliver of a k&f tripod. is the manfrotto 608 compatible so I can mount my camcorder?

A: Yes, the bottom of the Manfrotto 608 Nitrotech Fluid Video Head has a standard female 3/8" thread. And the K&F legs the head comes off and that has a 3/8 inch male thread.

Q: 9. Does this head really weigh 2.2 lbs?

A: I did not weigh the head, but the weight seems appropriate. It is an excellent head and works great to hold my Schwarovski spotting scope.

Q: 10. What is the difference between this head vs 0705 FSB-8T?

A: The T stands for Touch & Go plate. The FSB 8 comes with sideload attachment of camera plate
