Q: 3. Can it convert a DVI input to HD-SDI using a DVI to HDMI Cable?

A: If you are converting a DVI-D to HDMI, then yes that should be no problem. You will have to also factor in audio. your DVI to HDMI conversion will need to embed the the audio into the HDMI stream.

Q: 4. How does this SDI splitter operate without a power supply? It seems like all the other units like it require one.

A: According to Apantac, this passive splitter has minimal internal wiring, and draws power through the SDI connection.

Q: 5. does it embeds RCA Audio Input onto HDMI Output (just like what DAC-8P does, if we want to chose audio from RCA instead of HD-SDI)? please refer here a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/867307-REG/Datavideo_dac8p_HD_SD_SDI_T_HDMI_Converter_Up.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/867307-REG/Datavideo_dac8p_HD_SD_SDI_T_HDMI_Converter_Up.html/a

Q: 7. Can I set up dac-70 SDI output to atem television Hd and HDMI out put to projector ? Anyone try before please help me .

A: Yes that is possible.

Q: 8. Eternally grateful for your input... If input VGA at 1024x768 and it is set to output at 1080, will I see pillar boxes and a slight letterbox at the top since it is outputting 1:1 or will it fit to the vertical height? How about for 720? Thanks!!! Steve

A: We are using it similar to what you are describing. If you put VGA in and set output to 1080 it will be full screen. As far as 720, we have not used it yet.Lenny

Q: 9. Would this cable allow me to send and record 4k raw from a Canon c300 mark II to an Atomos Shogun?

A: Yes. 3G-SDI is 10-bit 4:2:2 4K at up to 30p 12G-sdi is good for 4Kp60 resolution and higher bit rate, so it is also compatible with previous standards like HD/3G-SDI.

Q: 10. I have a Free To Air Satellite Receiver that receives and displays most Ku Band Satellite TV channels in 720p HD format, which is watchable but oftentimes annoying; nowhere near the 1080i quality I would like. So if I ran an HDMI cable from the Free To Air satellite reciever to the Up Converter, and another HDMI cable from the converter to my TV, will I get the nice crystal clear detailed 1080i picture instead? Or will it still look fuzzy and kind of out of focus? I'm willing to blow the money for your product if it will display in true clear detailed 1080i quality. I hope you can please let me know. Thanks!

A: This is a great converter. I've bought a few of them for various applications. It will absolutely do the conversion you're asking about. The quality you get on the output will be entirely dependant upon what you put in. If your source is HD then you can expect a good picture going up to 1080.
