Kodak's Professional Portra 400 is a high-speed daylight-balanced color negative film offering a smooth and natural color palette that is balanced with vivid saturation and low contrast for accurate skin tones and consistent results. Utilizing the cinematic VISION Film technology, this film also exhibits a fine grain structure with very high sharpness and edge detail. A micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion makes it especially well-suited for scanning applications, and advanced development accelerators offer extended versatility when enlarging. This film has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27° and is particularly well-suited to portrait and wedding photography, as well as nature, travel, and outdoor shooting with moving subjects, or when the lighting cannot be controlled.
This item is five rolls of 120-format roll film.

Q: 1. Can you do batch scanning with 35mm slides? I want to just be able to insert the slide, push a button and have it scan all the negatives on it's won, instead of doing it one by one.
A: It does not have an auto feed. You have to advance each frame manually.
Q: 2. Can it scan B&W slides?
A: Yes, the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE can scan B&W slides.
Q: 3. what is the quickest time to scan a slide? -- with low resolution (say 300 dpi) and without special scanning features turned on. Do these times vary between the 8100, 8200i SE and 8200i Ai
A: How are the images outputted and saved on the disk, i.e., JPEG, TIFF.
Q: 4. What's the best software for mac Catalina 10.15.6? One that works without constant tweaking.
A: Vuescan seems to be the best software.
Q: 5. Am I able to feed in an entire roll of 35mm film at once? Does the software allow for scanning slide film/ color positive film like Velvia 100?
A: No, this uses a Tray system. You cut your negative roll into pieces consisting of 6 frames each. load the piece onto the tray and slide into the scanner. you scan each photo one by one using the software. The Silverfast software included allows you to scan slides/ color POS film. The scanner comes with a tray for mounted slides (just put your mounted slides in the tray (up to 5 at a time)) hope this helps. I own this scanner and Im very Happy with it and the software.
Q: 6. Will this scanner and the SilverFast SE Plus 8 software work with Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1?
A: The Plustek 8200i SE is compatible with Mac OS 13.3.1 but Silverfast 9 is needed. Currently Silverfast offers a free upgrade to version 9.
Q: 7. How One Touch is the one touch feature?I want to scan thousands of slides to high-res tiffs and later software fix the ones of most interest to me.I assume there will be some initial setup and configuration time. But once this initial setup is done, can I mindlessly feed slides in and push the big button?
A: The Quick Scan button will do auto-adjustments, like auto-exposure.. It is not used as a custom-adjustment that saves the settings for batch scans.
Q: 8. Emulsion side up or down with slides
A: The emulsion side of the negative should be down when using the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE Film Scanner.
Q: 9. I noted that at Adorama, this model is said to include NuSoft Presto PageManager 7.23 - for the same price. Is that actually included here, is it a typo there, or do they just offer more in this package?
A: NuSoft Presto PageManager does come with the OpticFilm 8200i SE.
Q: 10. How well does this scan Kodachrome?
A: This will scan the film at 7200 DPI, which is more than sufficient for printing, editing, and archival purposes.
