Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with vintage mirror lens such as a Lentar 500mm?

A: This will work with any larger lens that does not come with a collar.

Q: 2. will this work with a Panasonic Micro 4/3 body and their 100-300mm telephoto? I have a g7 and a Gx85 and may get a GH5 or or G95.

A: Your camera system is too small for Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release. The lens will reach the support bar when is fully extended. You will also need to tilt the camera and lens down in order to rest the lens on the bar. The velcro strap is also too long and will need to be wrapped twice around your lens. The minimum length of the Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release adjustable bar is 6''. your lens starts at 5''.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Nikon AF-S 300mm, f/4D (ie, the older non VR version)?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Nikon Nikon AF-S 300mm, f/4D lens.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with camcorders as well as SLR's?

A: Well, I didn't use it with camcorders. However, the general idea is to support the body and the lens in a manner not to cause much pressure on the mount. If that would help in recording then let it be! But I doubt controlling it would be much of an easy task. I don't know the size of camcorders, but the total expansion of this arm is somewhere around 40cm; would that be good for camcorders?

Q: 5. How does this attach to a tripod? Do it fit into the Really Right Stuff quick release clamps?

A: It features a 1/4 20 thread size to connect to tripod/monopod heads.

Q: 6. is it working with sigma 14mm f1.8 attached with MC-11 AT Mefoto roadtrip tripod?

A: This is a universal fitting mount with an adjustable sliding color. The Sigma 14mm should fit in if you slide the support to the back.

Q: 7. Will this fit a Sony A300 DSLR?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 293 will fit the Sony A300.

Q: 8. What is the lens diameter range the strap will fit?

A: The velcro strap on the Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release can expand upto a 105mm circumference to hold the lenses steady.

Q: 9. Will this be compatible with a Canon 70-200 f/2.8?

A: For this specific combo, I do not have an answer. However, I have a collection of a number of classic SLR's and lenses and have this attachment. While a little cumbersome, have found it very useful for a number of systems and prime and zoom lenses, including Olympus, Canon FD, Minolta MD, and several Nikons. I would purchase it again and believe it will probably work for the 2.8 Canon. Primes work better than zooms I have tried. All my equipment is manual focus so have no comment for AF. It's a jury-rig, but I find it helpful to wrap a thick rubber band around the zoom barrel to help keep the same zoom settings in place.

Q: 10. Would this work for the Tamron 18-400 telephoto attached to a Nikon D3200 or Z6 II?

A: The Manfrotto 293 Telephoto Lens Support with Quick Release is only compatible with lenses 7.9" to 11.6" in length; the Tamron 18-400mm lens is only 4.88" long, so it is not compatible with this device.
