A: Hi I'm sorry I have not yet tried this with B/W negatives. I did use the infrared filter for work with Ektachrome slides and found that I had to be careful with it because it could reduce sharpness if not carefully adjusted.

A: This scanner produces files roughly 130mb large which is not quite large enough to get a 20x30 print. There is a great software product you could purchase in conjunction with this or any other scanner which will increase the resolution so you can make larger prints called Perfect Resize by OnONe.
