Q: 1. How many steps does this take to make it? I am wondering if I can turn it into an “advent calendar” for my son to build?

A: Please take a look at this link as it lists the instructions and all of the steps required to build the Lomography Konstruktor F Do-It-Yourself 35mm Film SLR Camera Kit. https://microsites.lomography.com/konstruktor/how-to-build/

Q: 2. How are the 8200i and the 8100 different? The specs look identical.

A: Integrated Infrared Dust/Scratch Removal?

Q: 3. how many negative and slide holders come with the scanner?

A: According to the manual, you get 1x mounted slide holder (4 sliders) and 1x negative holder (a strip of 6 frames).

Q: 4. What is the image size in QuickScan? Can it be software or hardware set?

A: The Plustek OpticFilm 8200i Ai Film Scanner's resolution can be selected using your scanning software.

Q: 5. Does the 8200i Ai infrared filter work with B/W negatives ? I had heard that it did not and that I should buy the less expensive one for B/W (?).

A: Hi I'm sorry I have not yet tried this with B/W negatives. I did use the infrared filter for work with Ektachrome slides and found that I had to be careful with it because it could reduce sharpness if not carefully adjusted.

Q: 6. Can this scanner work with Mac OS? Is the only feature I lose the one touch? Thanks in advance.

A: Works great did all family slides and negatives. Only one touch which i did not use.

Q: 7. Is this scanner working with windows 10 fall?

A: Yes, it definitely works with Windows 10. I had no problems, scanned in almost a thousand pictures and no hiccups. Great scanner!

Q: 8. What size files are produced? I am looking to make large prints, say 20x30.

A: This scanner produces files roughly 130mb large which is not quite large enough to get a 20x30 print. There is a great software product you could purchase in conjunction with this or any other scanner which will increase the resolution so you can make larger prints called Perfect Resize by OnONe. It can work as a plug-in for Photoshop and Lightroom, or used independently after you've scanned your images onto your computer. See the link below for details:http://bhpho.to/VN0rYP

Q: 9. What size lenses does this use? What size adapter would I need to put other lenses or filters on this??

A: The Lomography Lomo'Instant Automat Instant Film Camera and Lenses (Bora Bora) has a 43mm filter thread size.

Q: 10. Do you stock additional mounted slide holders for the 8200 Plustek scanners? They are hard to find online. I'd like to order extra holders with my scanner order. Thanks, Frank

Great Color. Landscapes are great. Shadows are limited by the fact that it is film. Does best when over exposed one stop.

I've shot portra 400 a lot but never ventured into the 800 version fearing very intrusive grain. Im happy to say, I'm extremely happy with the results. The color rendition and tones are fantastic and the grain is barely noticeable. Highly recommended for any type of lighting condition! Wish the price would be lower but hopefully someday as more people start using, prices would go down.

I'm using Portra 800 26 years, no other film may match the possibilities of this film. Grain on level with 160 speed, colors amazing and I may shoot handles without worries. Absolutely perfect in every respect

Rate this stuff at 200 when you shoot it and it's magical!! It's so much more contrasty than P400 but more flexibility than P160. LOVE skin tones with this film!!

Love the color. I usually set the ISO around 600 even though this is rated for 800.
