This lens is great for most photos that require a longer focal length than the standard zoom lenses. This would include portraits, candids at parties and weddings, reasonably close sports shots, larger wild animals. For smaller wildlife, birds etc, and sports at greater distances (e.g. cricket) one needs a much longer focal length. The images are sharp enough for my Olympus OM D E-M5 body with its excellent sensor and IS. The autofocus is very rapid at the short end and fast enough for me at 150mm. While in terms of the aperture it is quite a slow lens, the camera body allows great latitude with ISO settings and even in low light or fast moving subjects a satisfactory shot is usually possible. The plastic mount and body of the lens are often regarded as a negative feature, but the fit and finish of the lens are excellent and the moving parts work freely without noticeable play. Mechanically it is the best plastic lens I have owned.

This is a great little lens. It is well worth the price. It's an affordable lightweight lens made for normal daylight photography.

To look at, the first wave of Olympus m4/3s lenses seemed a mite flimsy, this one being no exception. But underneath the hood this lens produces surprising results, quite amazing when you consider the price. I prefer it to the Lumix 45-200mm. It's lighter, balances better on my succession of E-PLXs: the 1, the 3, and now the 5. It's also half the price. Sold it with the E-PL1, but recently repurchased because I kept running across the images created with this lens. And since they, the images, speak louder than words, I enclose a few herein. This is a basic, must-have m4/3 lens.

I paid $ for this lens. Image quality is great, it's super small and compact considering the zoom level. Totally recommended

I bought this lens to get me by with my OM-D cameras until the pro version comes out later this year. It delivers much better results than I expected for a lens in this price range. It smokes the 12-50 kit lens that came with my E-M5 at the same focal lengths. Highly recommended.

I was surprised with the sharpness of this lens. I like the lens to carry around with out the weight of a larger lens of this type.
