The IDX P-V257 Endura V-Mount Plate is a 2-pin D-tap DC Out and DigiView plate that is an enhanced variation of the P-V2 Plate series. Providing an ideal solution for combining Endura V-Mount batteries to handheld cameras without the standard V-Mount style battery lock, the plate offers precise DC power connectivity.

For camera systems compliant with DigiView, the remaining battery power can be displayed in the viewfinder. Converting 12VDC power, the plate uses 1 tap for regulated 5V/7.3V (switchable). The second D-tap offers 50W (max) unregulated battery throughput for equipment such as lights and HDD recorders.

You can use the Endura V-Mount Plate for a variety of cameras using the optional IDX cables specific to the camera models. The maximum power output available from the plate is 50W, and it measures 3.25 x 5.59 x 0.47" and weighs 0.40 lb.

A: Not sure how long it takes to charge those because I leave it charging at the end of the day when totally empty. But more than one hour.I have the IDX VL-2 PLUS charger.

A: Nope it was barely charged (minimum) when it got shipped.

Quick release adapter is super handy as I have it on other tripods I own plus the Manfrotto tripod. Being able to switch which camera is on which tripod without have to unscrew and screw the camera on, makes my life simply better. 5

The mounting screw on my tripod kept backing down into the tripod head; this adapter negated that problem and gave me a solid quick-release. I don't notice the plate when I'm shooting handheld and when it's closed and locked it is very secure. 5

I got it for my monopod which is also a walking stick so didn't want a large and didn't want to be screwing the camera on and off all the time. This works well for that. 5

I use this setup with a Canon EOS7D and a Manfrotto tilt head on a Giottos mono pod. It is very solid, even with a heavy zoom lens attached. The lever locks in the open or closed position so you can mount the camera with one hand, and once it is mounted, you won't accidentally release it. The plate has a folding twist ring on the screw, so you can attach it to the camera without a screwdriver. 5

To be honest, I have a couple of these Manfrotto brand adapters and a couple of the generic cheapo adapters. I use them all, but the Manfrotto ones are definitely higher quality and I really do trust them in comparison to the generics. With the generics I feel like I have to hold my breath when I use them. I use these Manfrotto branded versions for my hand held rigs and any situation where I really need to know they are going to hold up and not give out. They work perfectly, solid construction, and piece of mind knowing they keep my equipment safe and are not going to break or fall to pieces. 5

If you are modifying an existing mount (e.g., a focusing rail) or making a new mount (e.g. a macro bracket), this quality Manfrotto product is just the ticket. It's a great system. Really easy and efficient locking and releasing mechanism. Perfect match for my macro photography rail system. Sturdy design and hopefully, it will last for a generation. Do not hesitate to invest this if you have a good tripod. 5

Holds pro camera body with large telephoto lens. Just have to push the lever (beyond the spring tension force) to make sure the plate is tightly mounted. 5
