Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. which port do you use to connect to internet?

A: You can connect it to any port - doesn't matter. Think of a Network Switch like a distribution box for network traffic.

Q: 2. What are the differences between this switch and the TEG-S24g listed for $123.99?

A: Comparing the specs, they are essentially the same, although not identically written. This S24dg does not come with rack-mount ears, and I believe the d in the model number refers to it being a desktop version; it comes with rubber feet you can attach for that usage.

Q: 3. Will this device power the new ubiquiti 48 volt cameras? UVC-G3-AF?

A: Hi Tony! Thanks for your interest in TRENDnet! Yes, this device will power the new ubiquiti 48 volt cameras. Hope this helps! Q: 4. What firmware version is on this switch? I see alot a sales of the version 1.0R which is obsolete by Trednet.

A: Unfortunately we are unable to check the serial, batch, firmware or OS version of a item before it ships.

Q: 5. Any idea on how far you can run ethernet to power a simple bullet cam using this switch?

A: The standard recommended limit to a single run of Ethernet cable connection is 100m or about 325 feet. As the POE standard can adapt to power requirements, based off the length, as long as your stay below the 100m you should have no problem. I have run connections out over 150 feet with no problems.

A: Based on the specifications, Yes, it should power the camera.

Q: 8. What port number does the incoming from server go into, I'm assuming number 1? TIA

A: The manufacturer has not specified any of the TPE-TG84's Ethernet ports as a designated upstream port.

Q: 9. Does this switch provide POE?

A: No, the TRENDnet TEG-S82g 8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch does not support PoE.

Q: 10. Does the switch have a fan or make any noise when it's on?

A: No fan 100% solid-state.
