The LX-991U Time Code Remote Display from ESE features four 2.3" amber LED digit displays housed in an "LX" enclosure. It has rear-mounted BNC connector that accepts either ESE timecode (TV76, TC89, or TC90) or SMPTE/EBU timecode. An RS-232C ASCII timecode (format "0", "1", or "A" at 9600 baud) can be input via a rear-mounted 9-pin connector. An internal DIP switch is used to configure the display for 12 or 24-hour format, or to display the date instead of time-of-day if the incoming signal contains date information. If receiving ESE timecode from a timer, the unit will display minutes and seconds.

If you can't afford the absolute best on the market then this is a great eyepiece for the money. Sharp views of Jupiter and Saturn. Downside is they won't fit into my camera adapter tubes for DSLR use. Wish they would! 5

I am in the process of building up my library of eyepieces and have found that the cost of the X-Cell LX brand has suited my needs without breaking the bank. I would recommend these eyepieces for anyone on a budget. Moon looks awesome through this eyepiece. Celestron makes a good product. 5

I recently purchased a Celestron Starsense Explorer DX 130AZ telescope and although the 25mm and 10mm eyepieces that came with the telescope were okay, I decided to use the 25mm and upgrade the higher power with the 9mm X-Cel LX with a wider field of view and six-element lens system. It was obvious the first time I used this new eyepiece the quality and view was so much better. 5

Excellent product, very good optics. We have seen Jupiter, 4 of its moons and the band of clouds and also Saturn with its rings in very good definition. Great eye piece. 5

A joy to use. I have now purchased the complete set of X-Cel LX eyepieces, and they are great. I am using them in preference to others. The 60 degree field is wide enough to comfortably take in at one view with good eye relief. Why go squinting into the corners of an 80 or 90 degree eyepiece which is a cumbersome blunderbuss that weighs a ton. This week I compared both my 25mm and 18mm X-Cel LX's with a standard 25mm 50 degree Plossl, looking at the trapezium in the Orion Nebula with my C14. The fifth and sixth stars stood out neatly and clearly with the X-Cel LX units, but the Plossl needed a bit of encouragement and movement of the eye to clearly pick them up. 5

There are many more expensive optics for Celestron scopes, but these X-Cel lenses are a bargain, nice clear viewing and solid build. No complaints! 5

I bought the 9 mm eyepiece in conjunction with the X-Cell 2x Barlow as the combination is the closest I can get to the maximum useful magnification for the NexStar Evo-8. To say the least: I am impressed by both. With regards to the 9 mm, the eye relief is amazing compared to the stock eyepieces provided with the telescope. Images are crisp, bright and a pleasure. The first night out we were able to look at (with and without Barlow) Mercury, Venus, and the faintest of the Bode’s Nebulae. Looking forward to making the time to look at the Moon in the next week. 5
