A: While a slightly unusual application, this monopod certainly can handle the weight of the Ronin S and camera.

Q: 4. Can the base be used independently as a small tripod?

A: Yes, there is a lock. And a way to adjust it based on how big of a lens you have on the camera. But I wouldnt trust it completely unattended. Ive used it that way while standing next to it.

Q: 5. Would the DJI Ronin S plate fit in the head?

A: You can fit Ronin S plates into the Manfrotto. You can’t fit Manfrotto plates on the Ronin S. If you machine the sides and part of the underneath of the Manfrotto plates, they will fit the Ronin S.

Q: 6. Does this absorb vibrations from the floor to give steady video? If not is there a device that does that for video cameras like a shock mount for the camera?

A: By default, there are no mechanisms in this meant for shock absorption, but the Manfrotto XPRO aluminum video monopod does recover from impact and vibration relatively quickly. As far as we are aware, there is no intended device meant to work with this monopod that acts as a shock mount, save maybe a motorized gimbal attached to the end of the monopod (which also only sorta works against vibration).

Q: 7. Do these monopods include locking set screws in the head?

A: Unlike the Manfrotto tripods, it does not have set screws.

Q: 8. does 500 quick release plate work for this monopod that is 502?

A: Yes.

Q: 9. Does Manfrotto make a carrying bag for this monopod?
