Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is the Freewave system compatible with the 5DMIV? I'd be using to remotely control a 430EX and 430 EX II.
A: Works great with Nikon D810, a Nikon iTTL flash unit, and a Metz flash unit. Elegantly simple, although setting Auto ISO makes it harder for camera-flash-freewave to get accurate auto exposure
Q: 2. I have a Canon 5D Mark III and two Yongnuo 568ex II strobes. I realize I need a transmitter to fire the strobes if they are off-camera, but is a receiver necessary for each flash unit? I was under the impression these strobes wouldn't need receivers and I'm confused. Thanks
A: I believe you have to use the Yongnuo transmitter only to fire them without a receiver. I haven't used the Yongnuo flashes, so don't quote me. But I do believe that is the truth.m Otherwise, if you choose to use the Freewave transmitter, you'll need the Freewave receivers too. For what it's worth, I use the Freewaves with my Nikon 810 and Nikon flashes and so far they've performed very well.
Q: 3. Please do inform the size of each of these units?. If there is photograph of this fitted on a Canon 70D or like DSLR will be highly appreciated.
A: Apologies for this posting. I got it on the page itself. Thanks!!!!
Q: 4. CAN I CHARGE VIA USB WHILE IN USE ON-CAMERA?
A: PTZCAM does not list the powering capabilities of the PTZCam TALLY4 4-Camera Wireless Tally System for Blackmagic ATEM Switchers aside from saying it uses "Low Transmission Power."
Q: 5. Can you use this unit with the flash set in full manual control?....if no longer want to use TTL setting?
A: This unit does not support full manual control on Nikon D750. It will only support +/- 3 EV adjustments.
Q: 6. will this work with the d500 body and sb700 flash?
A: It works with my d750 and sb700, so I assume it will also work with the d500. As far as I know, they both have the same hot shoe. So far, I am very pleased with the performance. Battery life is great. Set up was easy. It can also be conveniently used as a remote trigger for your shutter, which is great for reducing camera movement.
Q: 7. CAN I PURCHASE A SINGLE TALLY (IF I BUY A KIT AND ONLY NEED ONE ADDITIONAL)?
A: No, unfortunately the PTZCam TALLY4 4-Camera Wireless Tally System for Blackmagic ATEM Switchers only comes with either 4 or 8 tallies included, and we do not carry the tallies on their own.
Q: 8. Will this unit work with the Nikon SB-400 (I have a D3200)?
A: I do not have a Nikon SB-400, the FreeWave did work well on my D3200 with my flash.
Q: 9. will the Vello FreeWave Captain Wireless TTL Triggering System work in TTL with Nissan mark 11 Speedlight?
A: Hi Craig, I honestly don't know. I have only used it to fire off camera studio lights.
Q: 10. Is this system IR or radio?
A: The Freewave Captain Wireless is a radio based, not infrared system.
