The Tiffen 4.5" Round CC05M Magenta Filter is a color compensating (or color correction) filter for use when making color balance adjustments. It can be used to alter the color balance of a scene by placing in front of a light source or the lens of your camera. It can also be used to apply color corrections when used in the darkroom with an enlarger or to help pre-visualize color adjustments when viewing prints.

Magenta is the opposite of green and can be used to reduce green tones or casts within a scene or print. This magenta CC05 is less dense than a CC10 filter, and requires a 0.3 stop compensation for normal exposure results.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where is it made?

A: SHENYANG CITY LIAONING PROVINCE,CHINA

Q: 2. Is the lens made in Japan?

A: According to Panasonic yes the lens is made in Japan.

Q: 3. Would this lens be good for iridology photography? Can anyone upload a detailed picture of their eye with this lens, would be curious to see. Not sure if it would be better to have a longer range lens for that kind of shot.

A: This lens is going to give you too much magnification. The imaged area will be on the order of a few mm x mm. The whole iris can not be imaged with this lens. It takes great images on a focussing rail, but you won't have much luck hand-holding your camera. A 100mm macro lens is going to be a better choice for you, I believe.

Q: 4. Is this actually a full frame for Sony lens? Usually when a lens is full frame for Sony, it is marked FE mount. I want to use this on my A7sii.

A: I'm using it on an A7. It's full frame. Very shallow depth of field (1 or 2 mm) even at f16. Must be used on a tripod.

Q: 5. is there any way to attach a ring light to this lens?

A: The lens doesnt have a front filter thread, so there would be no way to attach a ring light to the lens. Though, with a minimum focus distance of .79 (20 mm), you would likely be looking to find some lighting coming from the side. Or, if the item being photographed is relatively translucent, you might also consider lighting it from the back.

Q: 6. Do you think the Mitakon Zhongyi 20mm f/2 4.5x Super Macro lens would work on photographing jewelry, rings and such or is it too close?

A: Magnification Range: 4.5x to 4x would probably be a bit much for jewelry. I would highly suggest the 100mm macro lens by canon, please review the two following lens Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens https://bhpho.to/3yw7YoX Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens https://bhpho.to/38rlvDC

Q: 7. Isn't 20mm about .8 inch? That is, is this lens focused by moving it to it's only focal distance?

A: It appears to be the case but I've only tried the lens once. It has no dial to focus, just one for aperture and one for the strength of the macro. It is really close up and amazing but probably needs to be on a tripod or use a high shutter speed. I was moving too much so my first tries weren't as sharp as I'd like but I can see great potential with this lens.

Q: 8. Will this lens work with the Canon RP Full Frame camera?

A: The Canon RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.4 IS STM Lens can be used on the Canon EOS RP body with a 1.6X applied.

Q: 9. Do you recommend this lens for used as a digital negative's scanner with a Panasonic Lumix GH4 camera?

A: Mitakon Zhongyi 20mm f/2 4.5x Super Macro Lens for Micro Four Thirds is too strong for that and doesn't focus to infinity so won't work well. I recommend this Panasonic Macro 30mm for that use. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1124341-REG/panasonic_h_hs030_lumix_g_macro_30mm.html

Q: 10. Hi. Will this work on a canon rebel t5i

A: Yes, it will work with your camera. With this super macro lens, you focus by moving the camera
