A: Yes it will work, but it will effectively be a 21-36 zoom. If you are planning to move to a full frame camera later my advice would be GET IT, I love mine. If you will probably stay with a crop sensor camera then the 12-24 will save you about half the cost (however it's an f/4 lens) and effectively be 18-36 so you will get a wider view. I loved mine but went to a full frame camera and got the 14-24.
