The Harrison Professional Film Changing Bags are made with silver fabric on the exterior, and blackout fabric on the interior. There is an included zippered storage bag inside.

A changing bag is used to load and unload light sensitive material when a darkroom is unavailable.

A: It folds to about 12 x 10 . Then you roll it into an included bag that is about 13 x 4 . This is a flat bag, it is not the famous Harrison tent. I used flat bags like this for years and they are fine even with large 35mm 1000 magazines. However, if you are on a job that is 16mm or 35mm film and you will be doing hundreds of rolls, get the Harrison tent. You will thank yourself.

Q: 10. can this be used to load 4x5 film?

A: Yes but as always when it comes to changing bags. The film might be prone to dust issues if you are loading film into film holders.

I purchased this to use with my 4x5 processor since I do not have a dark room. I already own a smaller changing bag that wasn't sufficient, and this Large sized bag from Harrison was exactly what I needed. It is costly, so make sure you actually need to use something this large before purchasing. It easily folds. 5

I had not developed film at home since my homemade darkroom in high school so this is my first changing bag. I read every review I could find and decided to spend a bit more on the large Harrison bag. I had two concerns before purchase. (1) I have big hands and arms and I was worried about the sleeves being too tight. Turns out not to be an issue at all. Very comfortable and light tight. (2) I wanted lots of room to maneuver in the bag (even though I am only loading 120 film) but was concerned about the bag collapsing on top of my hands. I considered buying a tent to prevent this but they did not seem like a good value for the money and got inconsistent reviews. I got creative and essentially made my own tent by placing an inexpensive 3 sided plastic bin (see pic) in the bag which gives me a solid surface to work from and also provides side support for the bag material. I am really happy with this set up. I have only loaded about six rolls of film so far but it works perfectly. 5

I bought this bag because of Harrison's enthusiast reputation. I only need a bag to load reels for processing. I've been a photographer for 50 years and have had other manufacturer's units...some still being sold. This bag is better built and worth the extra money but beware IT IS BIG! I could easily load a half-dozen 8x10 holders in it. I could have gone with the smaller version I'd suggest that before you buy measure some counter space 36 by 36 inches and decide if you need that big a bag. 5

I bought this to change Arri SR 16mm mags in the field. A tent would have been nice but it is almost three times the price. The changing bag does the job nicely and folds up for easy transport. 5
