Q: 1. I am planning to replace my Canon photo copier with the V600 but a lot of the negative comments in the B&H reviews indicate problems when running on Mac OS X. Specifically, how do you get the best performance from the Epson software when the Mac OS is Sierra v10.12 or Yosemite v10.10? Also, what features either hardware or software won't work when when running on either of the two OS's?BTW... thanks for hosting a great Q&A site.

A: I am a professional cinematographer, purchased the V600 last December, and am very pleased with it's performance. I am using the Epson primarily to make hi-res scans from 35mm negs and slides, but as I am running OS 10.9.5, I cannot address any potential issues with newer versions of Mac OS. I can, however, attest to the quality of telephone support from Epson when solving minor issues with the V600.

Q: 2. How long does it take to scan a clip of 4 35MM slides?

A: Scanning time is determined by the resolution you are scanning at, and if you are running any proprietary software in conjunction with the scan. For instance, if you have Digital ICE on, it would double your scanning time. So you are looking at anywhere from 20 seconds up to 1.5 minutes per slide.

Q: 3. Does it work with M1 Mac running iOS 11.1?

A: Yes it is compatible with the M1 processor and OS 11.

Q: 4. does the software setup for filmstrip template?

A: The printer has its own driver that supports the film strip printing. This is either configured in your photo booth software or, manually done in printer settings (very limited). DNP software didn't really do it for me.

Q: 5. Does it come with paper?

A: The DNP DS620A Professional Photo Printer BH #DNDS620A does not include paper.

Q: 6. Thank you for asking my previous question. I forgot to ask if the scanner can scan directly to a computer. Our issue here is bandwidth paralyzes what we can send. If the scanner cannot scan to a flash drive, but can scan documents directly to a computer that would work. We just cannot rely on email because of the bandwidth.

A: The V600 scans directly to the computer via the included USB cable.

Q: 7. Is this scanner Linux friendly? Running Fedora 27.

A: I would say yes after reading Kevin's post. However you link it up, the printer is a good tool.

Q: 8. Does it support wireless printing?

A: This does not have wireless printing as an option. It does have a USB port and may be able to be used wirelessly with a third party wireless printer server but I sure it would not be supported by DNP

Q: 9. Can 120 slides be scanned with the Epson V600?

A: I have only used my Epson V600 scanner to scan 35 mm slides. I have been very pleased with the good results I have had from scanning my thousands of slides. The employees at B&H were very helpful, courteous and professional to me. I highly recommend B&H, they were pleasure to do business with.

Q: 10. Is this scanner compatible with a Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5?

A: Yes the scanner will work with Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5, just be sure to update it and you should be fine.
