Heliopan Bay 60 Linear Polarizing Glass Filter - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

This filter eliminates ultraviolet rays to remove haze from outdoor shots as well as polarizing the light to remove reflections, and increase color saturation, without affecting the overall color balance

Heliopan filters are "dyed in the mass" and ground, polished and coated to the highest standards of the German optical industry

All Heliopan screw-in type and series size filters are mounted in precision black anodized brass rings to eliminate binding or cross threading and to ensure optimal alignment

Q: 1. Is there one or a quantity of four filters per package?

A: This would be one linear polarizer measuring 4 X 4.

Q: 2. Will this fit a Nikkor af-s 10-24mm lens?

A: In researching this lens it appears to have a 77mm filter thread. So you will need to use filters that screw into a 77mm thread. Thanks for your question!

Q: 3. Will this fit the LEE filter system holder (used with the LEE hood)? If not, can the rubber/plastic edge in the picture of the filter be removed so it could fit?

A: The Lee filter system has to be modified slightly to allow 4x4" filters to fit. The edge is actually glass so cannot be easily removed.

Q: 4. Can I use this filter on a Lee filter system holder?

A: There are two industry standard nominal filter thicknesses: 2 mm and 4 mm. The Lee holder, while normally set up for 2 mm, can, with the addition of longer screws, can accommodate 4 mm filters as well.

Q: 5. What does turning the filter do? How can the effects be seen if it is used on a twin-lens camera?

A: Spinning the front of the Hoya 43mm Linear Polarizer Filter effects the level and angle of polarization. The only way to see the effect is to look through the lens that the filter is used on.

Q: 6. Can this Bay III filter be used on a Rolleiflex 2.8C along with the Rollei lens hood?

A: No, the Heliopan Bay 3 Clear Protection Filter can not be used at the same time as the lens hood.

Q: 7. I have a Nikon Coolpix L340. I am aware that it's lens is 35mm. Is this polarizer applicable to that particular camera?

A: The Nikon COOLPIX L340 digital camera does not have filter threads on the lens. So you cannot use any filters on this camera.

A: There were several Hasselblad lenses that took/take a bay 60 filter. The most common being a 80mm cm lens.

Q: 9. Will this fit in the NiSi V5 pro holders?

A: From the NiSi V5-PRO manual: The filter holder can be used only with square filters with a width of 100 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.

Q: 10. I am going to use this on an old Konica auto S2. Is this filter appropriate for use on a range finder and will the threads pitch match on the lens? Thanks.

A: I was fairly successful using it without checking through the live view on a Leica 240 MP. I often photograph in a constant desert or sun lit canyon/river area. I first use the filter to look at the scene without the camera lens attached. I could tell where the max effect was in relation to the sun direction (I live above the northern 45 degree lat) and then know that that direction was best for the max. I used old film leica's in a similar manner many years ago too...AJZ
