However, Really Right Stuff states that many of the Novoflex plates will not work with their Arca-type quick release clamps. The tripod thread mount size on the underside of the head is an industry standard sized 3/8-16, and this is the same size as the vast majority of Manfrotto and other brand tripods as well. As long as the specifications for the tripod indicate it having a 3/8-16 tripod thread mount, this head could be used on them.

A: Definitely. This is probably my favorite tripod head. They do wear out over time (The ball doesn't grip as well as it should and eventually your only option is to replace it.) I am on my third one. I've tried other heads but none have been as flexible and easy to work with as the grip action ball head.
