Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which model of Sekonic LiteMaster Pro L-478 will trigger Paul Buff CyberSync remotes?

A: The Cyber Sync protocols have not been shared with anybody so only work with another PCB CyberSync. The PX version of the L478 triggers Phottix Strato based radio triggers. The DR-U triggers PocketWizard. The EL version of the L-478 triggers and controls Elinchrom flashes with Skyport in them.PocketWizard makes interfaces to PCB that you can use. The Plus series will trigger them. The ControlTL (Mini and Flex) will allow power control through the meter. I have some PCB AlienBees that I can trigger and power control. Pretty amazing to work with.

Q: 2. What is the difference between the L-478DR and the L-478DR-U?

A: To put it simply, the U at the end of the model number means that is for the US market.

Q: 3. will it trigger my YONGNUO YN600EX-RT II Wireless Flash. If not, what else should I buy?

A: No this will not trigger Yongnuo flash , you can do it on manual where the meter blinks with a flash symbol and when the flash is triggered it will read the light

Q: 4. Can this camera put it's out to 576i?

A: We're afraid not. This camcorder is able to record SD quality at 480/59.94i.

Q: 5. Can I put multiple led lights on a single group to control them together?

A: The main light would have the master setting turned on while any other GVM lights would have the slave setting turned on. They can be on the same channel.

Q: 6. This can trigger the b1 profoto

A: Sorry. No. See previous reply.

Q: 7. Will this Unit remote fire my Canon 430EX III-RT or my Canon 600EX III-RT flashes ?

A: I'm sorry but the meter will not work those flashes, they run on a different radio frequency than that of the Pocket Wizards.

Q: 8. Does this camera have a stereo 1/8 inch mic jack and audio control in the menu for two separate audio channels?

A: Yes, the 1/8" audio jack is stereo. However, with this camcorder you will be able to use either the Internal Microphone or the external mic connection. You will not be able to use both at the same time.

Q: 9. Does it work with ODIN, or Odin II ?

A: No. The 478PX uses the Phottix Strato II signal. You have 1,2,3,4 channels and A,B,C,D groups. You have to control the lights at the lights. Presently, there is no way for a Phottix receiver to memorize a power level signal sent from a meter. That is the key to the above. When Phottix modifies their system or creates a one with the right specs to allow power control from an external device like a meter, Sekonic could upgrade the meter to do the job. That is not likely to happen soon as Phottix has only been working with Sekonic about 8 months now. We will have to see what happens. Than said, one needs Strato II receives to catch the meter's trigger signal. The Strato II protocol is built into Mitros+ and Indra flashes. The Odin transmitters could trigger a Strato II 1,2,3,4, A,B,C. A Strato II set (transmitter and receiver) has an amazing low price. The receiver is designed for Canon, Nikon and the older Sony foot. However, you could use them on ANY hot shoe camera with ANY hotshoe or studio flash. Pretty interesting system. Hope that helps.

Q: 10. Is this exactly the same as the LiteMaster Pro L-478DR-U-PX Series Light Meter but with added functionality?

A: Yes with built inPhottix Strato II trigger
