Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this on my 20D?

A: The Canon EF-S 55-250mm will be fully compatible with the Canon 20D.

Q: 2. Difference between import vs USA on lens

A: USA means that the lens was sold within the US markets and carries a valid USA warranty. If the item is import/grey market, then the product was purchased outside of the US market and comes with a 1 year B&H warranty.

Q: 3. Is this lens compatible with the Cannon Rebel T3i camera?

A: Yes it will. The Canon EOS Rebel cameras are all compatible with any autofocus lenses made by Canon for the EOS system or by other manufacturers for the EOS system.

Q: 4. does this lens work well outside for wildlife?

A: The EF-S 55-250mm lens can definitely be used for other things outside of wildlife. It's range is flexible enough for various types of photography.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Canon Eos 600D?

A: Yes, of course. Very nice lens. Good sharpness and colors.

Q: 6. What is the difference between the EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS II and the EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS. I keep seeing a lot of retailers selling the IS by itself but only offering the IS II as part of a bundle or kit.

A: The EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II has updated and improved lens coatings, as well as a panning detection feature automatically turns off the Image Stabilizer in either the horizontal or vertical direction when following moving subjects. You can find the first version of the EF-S 55-250mm lens here: http://bhpho.to/1rU6ShT

Q: 7. Will this fit a canon EOS M50

A: No, the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens will not fit directly on the Canon EOS M50 Mirrorless Camera, as the M50 has a EF-M lens mount, and this lens is a standard EF-mount. In order to use this lens on that camera you would need the Canon EF-M Lens Adapter Kit for Canon EF / EF-S Lenses, BH #CALA (https://bhpho.to/3TyTYFy).

Q: 8. Will this lens fit the Canon Rebel XT1?

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Rebel XTi and all other Rebel models and APS-C format DSLR's from Canon.

Q: 9. I have a Nikon P610 with 16 mp w Nikkor 60X Wide Optical Zoom ED VR, 4.3-258mm, 1:3:3-6.5. WHAT LENSE IS EQUIVALENT OR BETTER FOR ME TO PURCHASE FOR MY CANON D80?

A: There are no DSLR lenses with that much range. You would need to purchase several lenses in order to come close to that range. If you are looking for lens recommendations, I would suggest contacting our Photo Department directly via email, and let us know what it is that you are wanting to shoot.AskPhoto@bhphoto.com

Q: 10. Will a 1.4 telextender work with this lens?

A: Sorry, no. Telextenders work best with extreme (expensive) telephoto primes with fast f/2.8 apertures. They cannot work with consumer lenses like this with an effective f/11 stop. If you try to mount this, the glass elements most likely will hit and damage each other. Even if you succeeded in mounting, the lens would be so dark, you could not focus and the image quality, sharpness wise, would be very poor.
