A: No, the lens is too small to use with this support. It is meant to be used with long telephoto lens, about 6.5" and longer.

A: I use it with my Nikkor 70-300. The front strap could fit better but really you are just balancing your lens/camera so the front strap doesn't do much IMO.

A: You can reverse the sliding support arm and adjust it to touch the base of the camera if needed

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 293 will fit the Sony A300.

A: There are 3 1/4 inch and 3 3/8 inch threaded attachment positions. The front lens support can be positioned directly over each of them. The front lens support is on a sliding arm that can be reversed to shorten the distance from the camera base.

A: That strap will not work with a P1000.
Q: 10. wull it be suitable for a sigma 100-400 lens?
A: While we have not tested this unknown combination, we feel that it should work just fine.
