A: It very much depends on what you are photographing. If you are shooting sports or wildlife, then the D500 would be ideal. If you are shooting everything else, and you want the best resolution for large prints, etc.. then the D750 would be best.

A: I used my D800 EN-EL15A battery with the D500 without any propblem

A: The Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Lens is a remarkable lens. When set at 24mm this GM lens appears as a prime 24mm virtually no distortion at the edges and no visible chromatic aberration, this is true at 35mm, (and at 16mm). If the image is properly focused, this lens is certainly one of the sharpest in the world.

Q: 4. I can't get my Sony DVD player to read any disc with pictures from my D500 on it. Any suggestions?

A: Check and make sure there are no raw files, only jpegs.

A: Hello Deborah...while I consider the 16-35mm f/4L to be an excellent wide angle lens, I would have several concerns about this lens for astrophotography. The f/4 fixed aperture will require that you use either a high ISO, or an extended exposure time. Using a high ISO will result in unwanted grain and an extended exposure time would possibly cause star trails and/or coma. I would suggest using a faster lens, at least f/2.8.

A: They will all come with the most recent version of the firmware installed in relation to the time at which the camera itself was refurbished.

Q: 8. Thinking of upgrading from a D40X. I have 2 lenses, both are Nikon DX lenses: 1 is an AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED, the other is an AF-S Nikkor 10-24mm 1:3.5-5.4G ED lens. Someone told me that using those lenses on the D500 will not provide the same full-auto features as on my D40X. Is that true? Will those lenses not talk to this camera? Am I stuck with those lenses working only on my D40X?

A: I do not have those lenses, but the Nikon website says about the D500: Compatible with AF NIKKOR lenses, including type G, E and D lenses (some restrictions apply to PC lenses) and DX lenses, AI-P NIKKOR lenses, and non-CPU AI lenses (A and M modes only); IX-NIKKOR lenses, lenses for the F3AF, and non-AI lenses cannot be usedThe electronic rangefinder can be used with lenses that have a maximum aperture of f/5.6 or faster (the electronic rangefinder supports 15 focus points with lenses that have a maximum aperture of f/8 or faster, of which 9 points are available for selection)

A: Yes, absolutely. But you must be running El Capitan and be fully updated to be able to view them. You can also use Aperture to import 4k as well as HD video from the camera.
