Tiffen 4.5" Fl-d Fluorescent Glass Filter For Daylight Film

$540.00 $707.40

A Tiffen 4.5" FL-D Filter is used when you wish to correct for the greenish tone that appears when shooting daylight film under general purpose fluorescent lighting.

NOTE: The FL series of filters alone does not always guarantee 100% correct color balance when shooting under fluorescent lighting. They are general purpose filters intended for moderate correction and will not, by themselves, necessarily provide perfect color rendition.

An FL-W filter is used to balance daylight film under warm white or white type fluorescent lamps. An FL-B filter is used to correct the color balance when shooting tungsten film under fluorescent lighting.

Fluorescent lamps burn at many different temperatures and often require more demanding filtration for exact results. For specific filtration and professional use, it is strongly recommended that a color temperature meter be employed along with Color Correction filters (i.e.CC30M) when shooting under fluorescent lighting. This is the only proven way to achieve exact color correction.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the strengths over the previous model?

A: From my usage/point of view, sharpness in general, faster auto focus and a little bit lighter. The VR is also improved but I've never tested that back to back.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with D850?

A: Yes, the D850 is a full frame camera as is my D5, this lens is the main lens that I almost always keep on my D5 and is our main lens for our studio work and the results are outstanding, we will also be purchasing the D850 when they are off of back order and are more readily available and plan on using it for our main studio camera with the same lens and give my workhorse D5 a break as we are doing more photo shoots now than we ever have. In short, you will love this lens and it will be a great investment.

Q: 3. THIS NIKON 70 -200 MM F/2.8 E FL VR LENS COMPARES WITH SIGMA 70-200 MM SPORT ZOOM LENS , $2146.95 after $650 rebate VS Sigma $1499. which is $642. more , is it worth it?.

A: Yes, the Nikon lens is worth it. The optical quality is excellent and the focus is super fast and locks on the subject.

Q: 4. will this work on my D5600?

A: Yes, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens is fully compatible with Nikon D5600 DSLR Camera. Please keep in mind that the camera has an apsc sensor which creates a crop factor of a 1.5X on your lenses. The 70-200mm range will be increase to 105 -300mm f/2.8 lens. You would noticed the difference if you compare shots with this lens taken with full frame cameras and APSC sensor camera.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with old D90 camera? Thanks.

A: According to the Nikon website: The lens incorporates an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism. The following cameras are compatible with this lens: D5, D4 series, D3 series, Df, D810, D810A, D800 series, D750, D700, D610, D600, D500, D300 series, D7500, D7200, D7100, D7000, D5600, D5500, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3400, D3300, D3200, D3100, Nikon 1 J1, J2, J3, J4, J5 with FT-1, Nikon 1 V1, V2, V3 with FT-1, Nikon 1 S1, S2 with FT-1

Q: 6. How long and how wide is this lens with the hood attached (ready to shoot) and with the rear lens cap on? I need to know if it will fit in my,Think Tank LC 75 Pop down V2.0 Lens Changer Bag.

A: I agree with Richard R's measurements. Also, with the tripod mount on the lens the distance from the mount to the top of the lens is about 5 inches; however, that measurement is probably not material to your situation.

Q: 7. Does this lens come with the same case as the previous version?

A: Im not sure what case came with the previous model but this case reflects the quality of the lens. It is a soft case but is very well constructed and has two D rings for attaching the strap. It is easily accessed and provides all the protection you could ask for. Hope this helps.

Q: 8. What happened if i mount it to full frame Sigma FP? How does it affect to crop factor in this case?

A: Metabones recommends when using the Metabones Canon FD/FL-Mount Lens to L-Mount Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x on a full-frame camera, you would need to activate the camera's APS-C crop mode for best performance. The Sigma fp Mirrorless Camera has a DC Crop mode for APS-C lenses, which limits the recording area of the image sensor for APS-C size. When using the camera's DC Crop Mode, the crop factor will be the equivalent of 1.07x.It is not recommended to use the camera in full-frame mode. If you choose to do so, there will be a large, black vignette around the outside of the image where light is blocked from exposing the sensor.

Q: 9. Will this work with BH-55 Ball Head with Level Release and Panning?

A: The Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head with Lever-Release Panning Clamp, B&H # REBH55PCLR, does not include a quick release plate. As such, you would have to purchase one separately. If you purchase the Really Right Stuff LCF-11 Replacement Foot for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens, B&H # RELCF11 (the best option - dedicated for your lens), or the Wimberley P20 Quick Release Plate, B&H # WIQRPP20 (a more economical universal option compatible with your lens), they should work fine for use with the Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head with Lever-Release Panning Clamp.

Q: 10. I was wondering if this Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 lens is compatible with the Nikon D500 camera. I watched a camera review on this camera and it was mentioned that you could use this lens on the D500 camera with the 1.5 crop factor. Is that right? Thank You!

A: Yes. You can use this lens with your crop sensor Nikon camera. It will behave like a 105-300mm lens. I own a Nikon D5500 body and a D810.
