A: No, unfortunately a computer would be required as the middle man for content playback.

A: It only has one USB 3 output. That's it. And yes, it writes to M-Disc (which is why I bought mine). I haven't had any occasion to read anyone else's M-Disc yet, but this device seems to have a broad range in read/write formats. Also, it feels like a solid piece of hardware, which I like.
