Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Why is this ball head not recommended for use on a monopod?

A: Typically ball heads offer too much motion when unlocked, which can be hard to handle when using a monopod. With only two hands to grip onto the camera or lens; monopod itself; or the head/tension release knob, using a ballhead could make it difficult to secure the lens in the correct position/orientation. Alternatively, using a monopod head limits the motion to a single axis via the primary tension knob, making it easier to adjust for tilt while not giving you any hassle with pan or roll.

Q: 2. What other ball heads will fit the AT-3586?

A: Technically, the BZ-226 can be replaced by any ballhead using a 3/8"-16 screw thread. However, the BZ226 included with the AT-3586 is the most convenient because it's size/diameter does not interfere with the tripod's reverse-folding mechanism during travel.

Q: 3. What is the base mount and thread size of this tripod? I have a gimbal head that needs a 3/8"-16 male mount. Would this work for that head? Thanks!

A: Hi, this tripod has a 3/8"-16 mounting screw.

Q: 4. Can this ball head be used on a monopod?

A: Yes, it will mount to a 3/8"-16 screw on a monopod without issue, although it's typically not recommended.

Q: 5. How does the included ball head compare to the BE-117?

A: The Oben Triple Action BZ-226T Ball Head is not sold separately. It has a stronger ball than BE-117. It's load capacity is 27 lb, the width is 48mm and it has a third tension knob to control the amount of friction for the ball head knob in order to maintain strict control of the movement.

Q: 6. What Nodal Rail will fit the RTH-1030. Is Nodal Rail from Really Right Stuff MPR-CL 5.7 or the Acratech Nodal Rail an ok fit?

A: Yes, both the RRS and the Acratech will fit the Robus RTH-1030 Triple Action Ball Head. Both of those rails are arca compatible and will work with the Robus that is also arca. Main thing you want to look for is how long the lens you are using. You want a rail that is similar to the length of your lens and camera. If the rail is much longer it may appear in the photo if you are using a wider angle lens. If the rail is too small you might not be able to place the center of the lens over the center of the tripod.

Q: 7. Will the oben-3565 tripod be strong enough to hold a Nikon D850 DSLR camera with Tamron lens 72-200 f 2.8?

A: Yes, it will support the weight.

Q: 8. Is Robus RTH-1050 made in China?

A: Yes, this product is manufactured in China. :)

Q: 9. can this ball head be removed from tripod and put on another?

A: Yes, the BZ-217T Triple-Action Ball Head can be removed and installed on other tripods. The ball head has a thread size of 3/8-16, and it can be mounted on a ¼-20 thread setup as well with the included reducer bushing

Q: 10. What is the diameter of the base?

A: The Robus RTH-1030 Triple Action Ball Head base diameter is 2 in. (5.1 cm).
