The Tiffen 95mm Coarse Thread 81D Light Balancing Filter helps to decrease the color temperature by 500K in order to warm the image slightly in order to match the color quality of illumination. When using an 81D filter, you will be able to attain 3200K balance when the prevailing light source is 3700K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.6-stop increase in exposure for normal results.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the external mic jack supply phantom power?

A: We're afraid not, Phantom Power is something found on camcorders with XLR connections, which this camcorder does not have. However the 1/8" Mic Input does support Plug-In Power so you can use a microphone like the Rode VideoMic Go, B&H # ROVMG. https://bhpho.to/2aME5Wv

Q: 2. This camera is standard NTSC 60Hz, because the European models of this camera are PAL 50hz and is already ready to work in the American standards of tvs and monitors seeing that the tv and monitors work in 60hz and NTSC this and my doubt want to replace my old hmc 80 by a newer, more affordable standard camera?

A: This is an NTSC standard camera, it shoots at 60Hz with the frame rates of 60 and 30fps.

Q: 3. What kind of external microphone can be mounted to the camera? Or do you think the internal microphone suffices

A: This camcorder has a 1/8" Mic input. You could use a microphone like the Rode VideoMic Pro with Rycote Lyre Shockmount, B&H # ROVMPR. https://bhpho.to/2yLzu4H

Q: 4. Will this also work as an external monitor for anything with HDMI out? Eg, a Mac or PC?

A: yes it's a standard HDMI monitor

Q: 5. Can any of the HDMI wireless transmitters by Teradek be mounted to this camera?

A: The Teradek Bolt 500 LT HDMI Wireless TX/RX System, B&H # TE101905, will work great with this camcorder. The Bolt 500 includes a shoe mount so you can connect it to the camcorder. You will just need to supply the Transmitter with power, with the simplest solution for that being to add a battery plate for a smaller battery like the LP-E6. A: There is nothing in the same price range with an SDI out option.

Q: 8. Can audio levels be controlled separately from the internal mic, and an external mic?

A: With this camcorder you will be able to use either the Internal Microphone or the external mic connection. You will not be able to use both at the same time.

Q: 9. I need a SDI output, does this have one?

A: This camcorder does not have an SDI output. It does however have an HDMI output and you could always use an HDMI to SDI converter such as B&H # BLMCHDMISDI.https://bhpho.to/2bUtZ8I

Q: 10. How does this camera perform in low light situations, such as a dimly lit wedding?

A: The 1/3.1" MOS Sensor on this camcorder is Back-Illuminated (BSI), which helps in lower light situations. it will not work as well though as camcorder with a larger 1" sensor like the UX90 from Panasonic, B&H # PAAGUX90. https://bhpho.to/2iGu2XB
