Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there total weight of 1.54kg including the weight of the ball head or is it only for the tripod legs?

A: The weight of the GEEKOTO CT25Pro Craftsman 79" Carbon Fiber Tripod with the head is 3.4 lb (1.54 kg).

Q: 2. Are the tripod feet removable? How does one remove them?

A: The tripod feet are removable. Simply unscrew the feet from the legs.

Q: 3. Do the legs fall entirely by themselves when unlocked? or do you need to pull them at some point?

A: The legs of the iFootage Gazelle TC7 Fastbowl Carbon Fiber Tripod (BH #IFGAZELLETC7), needs to be pulled out. After a good share amount of play they become more easy to work with and will begin to open on their own.

Q: 4. Can this ball head be used with the peak design arca swiss?

A: Yes, the Geekoto CT25 Pro Craftsman 79" tripod's ballhead will accept the Peak Design arca-swiss plates.

Q: 5. I plan on using this with a Nikon 400 2.8E and would like to inquire if it will mount on this out of the box? Any other accessories I would need? THanks!

A: This is a really nice gimbal head. I have a Nikon 600mm lens that I use with this head. I don't know what foot your 400mm Nikon lens has but I needed to add an Arca-Swiss plate to the 600mm lens foot to mount it on this gimbal head. Really Right Stuff has foot replacements and plates for Nikon lenses with Arca Swiss profiles and I'm sure they have one for your lens. I guess B&H must have them, too. I used the gimbal head as delivered for several months but ended up changing the clamp for the RRS PG-CC: Cradle Clamp which I think has a better grip. I hope this helps.

Q: 6. Does this tripod pass the "twist test" meaning when the legs are extended and you grab and twist the base where they attach, do the legs flex?

A: Unfortunately, I have not seen a test as you indicate above for the GEEKOTO CT25Pro Craftsman 79" Carbon Fiber Tripod. As such, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly either by e-mailing them at support@geekoto.com or by calling them at (323) 289-2474.

Q: 7. I know the center column can be flipped. But can the tripod operate without it?

A: No, a tripod that has a center column, typically cannot be used without it.

Q: 8. Does this gimbal work side to side as well as vertical? In other words, does it keep the camera level in both directions?

A: Oben GH-30C Carbon Fiber Gimbal Head allows you to pan 360 and also point the camera up and down, but that won't level the camera. To level the camera you will need to move two of the tripod legs up and down until the camera is level.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with the quick releasing mount on the cobra strike monopod? Would be cool to quickly snap in a tripod head or slider right on top

A: This item does not have the same quick release system that is used on the Cobra Strike Monopod.

Q: 10. Is the suggest accessory Oben QR-53 Long Lens Quick Release Plate (5.3") really necessary? It comes with an arca swiss fitting.

A: The answer would depend on which lens you will be using on the camera. If you are using a telephoto lens that has a tripod collar with a short base (such as a 70-200mm lens, a 100-400mm lens or a 150mm/180mm macro lens), the If you are using a large telephoto lens that has a tripod collar with a longer base, or you need a longer plate to give you more room to adjust the camera/lens' center of balance on the gimbal head, then the longer Oben QR-53 Long Lens Quick Release Plate (5.3") may be better suited for your usage needs.
