Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Its for a6500??? Its AF????

A: The lens is fully manual: no EXIF or autofocus, but it's a pleasure to use. It fits Sony APS-C cameras: all NEx models and A6000, A6300, A6500. Will not fit full frame models. This lens is one of the best wide angle options for APS-C and can't be beaten for the price you pay.

Q: 2. On the A6000 or A5100, are there any shadows produced if using pop up flash without tilting the flash while using this lens?

A: Unfortunately, the pop-up flash does cast a shadow in the lower left area of the image. It's less, but still notable, without the lens hood. Also, the flash coverage is narrower than 12mm, so ilumination falls off notably at corners.

Q: 3. Will this lens work on Canon RP?

A: No, the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens for Canon EF-M Mount (Black) is not compatible for use with the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera. The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens listed above uses the Canon EF-M lens mount for their APS-C sensor mirrorless digital cameras, whereas the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera is a full-frame camera that uses the Canon RF-mount lens mount. There are no lens mount adapters designed to connect the smaller EF-M mount lens onto the larger RF-mount lens mount.

Q: 4. does it crop in with a7sii?

A: I bought it and returned it right away, I did not noticed it is not full frame. There is no reason to buy a lens that you have to modify your settings to be able to use it and also you will not use the full benefit of that sony's full frame sensor

Q: 5. Is there any difference between the black and the silver version for the Fuji X mount? Besides the price?

A: There is no difference at all in terms of the functionality. The silver lens goes quite well with my silver Fuji X-E2. Keep in mind that the lens hood for the silver lens is black.

Q: 6. Is this an autofocus lenses???

A: It's manual focus only. With this short focal length and high depth of field, you typically put it at infinity (which you have to check by live view zoomed in and not trust the markings on the lens) and don't change the focus during the entire day. Unless you're planning on taking close-ups of course.

Q: 7. Does this lens come with lens hood and front & rear lens cover?

A: Yes

Q: 8. Will there be light metering with this lens on om-d em-1? Thanks.

A: I don't have a lot of experience with the Olympus digital system, but if it works like my Fujifilm mirrorless system, you just have to go in the menu and turn on the setting that allows you to shoot without a lens, or in this case, a non-CPU lens. The camera should adjust shutter and ISO, you just need to manually adjust the aperture ring on the lens. I am able to use exposure compensation and shoot in manual or aperture priority on my camera. I don't think that Olympus mirrorless should be any different.

Q: 9. Do you set the aperture using the ring on the lens? Or do you set it through the camera?

A: Only on the Lens. The camera doesn't know the aperture but auto exposure works fine.

Q: 10. How is the warranty for this lens?

A: You receive a limited 1 year warranty that comes directly from Samyang. If you have any issues with the lens, you can reach out to them for a resolution.
